It has come to my attention that Burzum's profile has the genre noted as "Black Metal / Ambient" it should also be noted that his last two full lengths (Daudi Baldrs and Hlidskjalf) are Dark Ambient, and not related to black metal at all. So maybe a genre change:

"Black Metal/Ambient (1991-1997), Dark Ambient (1997-1999)"

Bleh, Burzum's ambient pieces are just what they are: ambient, not dark, not black, just ambient. Listen to Lustmord's "Heresy" - now that is dark ambient.
