What if artist X, who has a site here at the Metal Archives, participates in band Y, which has no site here at the MA? Is this an information that should be added to the additional notes of the band that artist X is running? Or would this be an information rather for Wikipedia than for this site?

Good question. I guess since notes are for information of general interest, if the guest appearance is particularly noteworthy, it whould be mentioned, but if someone does some random session work, it shouldn't be included. Essentially it's a judgement call.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about people that have been members of non-metal bands, such as Michael Schenker on UFO and John Sykes on Whitesnake, or is it just a guest appearance like Eddie Van Halen doing a guest solo on a Michael Jackson song?

The latter option will be better suited on v2, where each individual artist will have its page. For now just use some common sense, i.e. if Ronnie James Dio did guest vocals for someone, it would be OK to mention it on Dio's page, but it would look awkward on Black Sabbath's or Rainbow page.

Look at this site:

quote:
contributing musicians on Arrowwood songs are/have been: Pythagumus Marshall, Kim Larsen, Melissa Dusoliel, Lindsey Hoffman, Josh Lovejoy.

Kim Larsen has a profile here... Of the Wand and the Moon.

I was not sure how to add it, if it should be added ... but I guess in V2 it might be better. I was just curious.
