Perhaps the site could added a user submitted section going in depth on the characteristics of each basic genre. Just wondering if that is at all possible.

Just make new threads in the metal section. A new section wouldn't be necessary for this. In fact discussion of that sort would be ideal for the metal area since there isn't much else going on there except recommendation threads and the latest news on "x deathcore band".
