I looked for past threads on this and didn't find anything. If this was already discussed then I apologize and I'll quietly show myself out.

After editing the song titles on some albums recently, I noticed that the text box containing the song title could be a lot longer. As of right now the top of the table has the "title" label stretched, but the text box does not fill this space. It's just empty.

Since there are cases where song titles are long, couldn't the text box size be altered to accomodate (at least somewhat) the extra long song titles? All that would need to be changed would be the size attribute of the input tag.

Just a thought.

Could you provide an example of what you're referring to? I think I get it, but I'd like to see.

For example, try editing the song titles of Bal-Sagoth's Starfire Burning... album (or any of their songs, really) and you'll see that the text box is far too small. Since there is plenty of space provided by the "Title" label at the top, the text boxes could be longer to accomodate this.

While it is certainly possible there are song titles much longer than even the lengthened text boxes, it would be incredibly rare, not to mention that I'm sure there is a plethora of song titles much longer than the current text box length.

and the label text box should be stretched too.

I will suggest this here, why can't users at a specific rank modify the album's title? since they can modify anything regarding an album I can't see what will be the inconvenient of modifing titles too.

This has already been brought up at least twice, statements regarding this suggestion are clear. Release titles are considered too important to leave them up to 600 users.
