Hi,
it's some days that I have a problem with EVERY special character (ä, ö, ü, Æ, å, ç, é, ê, ë, ø, etc.): infact instead of the character appears this symbol: (for example: Zrn, gre, nigma). It's just a my problem? Is it possible to fix it?

Bye :)

YOUR error your browsers' error... it has to do with the coding of the signs..

switch to unicode, western or the like and they will disappear. It is a common problem here...

Go to the "View" dropdown menu on the uppermost toolbar, and then mouse over "Character Encoding."

Did someone recently edit Ulver's page and mess up the special characters? I only see weird stuff for å, ø etc with whatever encoding right now, and previously everything has worked fine for me with either western or unicode setting.

No, that is what the site does sometimes, I had similar problems with czech letters in the past.

Didn't want to make a new topic, but there's a problem linking Negura Bunget to bands that their members have been in. I tryed to fix it, but the link still wont work. Don't know why. any solutions?

One more thing, stop reporting such bands, especially the russian ones. Even when we correct it, the letters will return almost always to their unreadable stance again.

It was probably me who fucked up the Ulver page. I use IE, and even when I choose Unicode it reverts itself to Western European.

You should have seen the page allright with Western European (Windows and ISO)...?

Should we just put: o for ø, a for å etc, characters instead to avoid confusion.

Sometimes it's not even because of the browser. Different operating systems have different character encoding lists. Everything is not in Unicode. And when you copy a special character from a webpage (that may not be in unicode) or a text editor to metal-archives it isn't readable, even if you see it displayed properly.

Unicode doesn't scramble just special characters, but adjacent letters as well.

No thanks for changing to a non-sucky Mozilla Firefox... it sucks.

I see :
"Bnis les Tnbres, mon me" with Occidental
"Bnis les Tnbres, mon me" with Unicode

And the correct characters are :
"Bénis les Ténèbres, Ô mon Âme"

Someone edited that album with Firefox while he saw the album titled with the , That way the editing service does not see the correct characters and actually changes the correct é's, Ô's and Â's to . Normally on the band page you would see the correct title. It only changes to 's when you enter/edit the album page. But in this case someone fucked it up.

For example: http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=928
On the band page you see Motörhead, but on the album page you see Motrhead. If this is the case and you now edit something on the album, it will destroy the ö and though you will still see Motrhead on the album page, you see the correct and fucked up sign on the bandpage(which would be Motrhead).
