Would it be possible to show the bands according to the total number of their releases? I do not know if the old search-function offered this, but with the google does of course not support this. I ask it because yesterday I saw a band that has recently been updated, but had not much of information so far, but the internet offered quite a lot of this band, hence the site has been changed a lot; an album, links and so on.

I often had the luck to find some bands here that needed some rework on the page, but it is impossible to see when the site of a band has been updated the last time or if any discography has been added so far. Perhaps it is possible to add some statistical sites offering this information; as long as there is a way to present the data.

This would help to update empty sites.
If it is possible to show the bands with the most releases, the contrary could also be possible, or?

The 10 bands with the most number of releases on MA, along with other stats on MA, can be found here: http://metal-archives.com/stats.php

As for your suggestion, it might be useful to some extent.

Iron Maiden Reminds me of Britney Spears. If Iron Maiden is on this site, Avenged Sevenfold should be too! They both play Trash metal but Avenged Sevenfold play better!

I don't see it ever happening since that would probably suck up a lot of CPU resources.

Not really, because there are a lot of bands without any release added to the discography.
