Has anyone given any thought to allowing 'orrible DRM'd CDs to be flagged? As in, ones that won't play on your computer.

I know I got a Goatwhore CD once and found it had this problem, I sent it back, but I'd rather it didn't happen again.

Even if you like DRM (there must be some people), then adding a flag doesn't hurt anyone.

Thoughts?

It is annoying, indeed and I did not bought an album of Dream Theater due to that problem. Though adding this information to the sites could rise an amount of data, because you would have to specify which label, which version and so on. It is easier to find out while searching in the net if there is a DRM restriction on the CD or not.

Don't worry about the size though, its 4 bytes at the most.

If it is a problem because there are CDs they are released at different times, by different people or as special editions, we can just have a general "DRM reported" icon for the CD. This would mean that some version of the album has been reported as having DRM. That way, the person reading it can check with their supplier before they buy.

Personally, I don't buy any CDs without looking them up on here first these days, so it would be great to be able to see the DRM warning before I buy.

I think that most cd-buyers would agree to the point that DRM is annoying.

Though I do not see the point of adding it.

Well, depending on what you mean by "flag", I think that's a decent idea, actually.

DRM is sooo useless. In fact I'd say it makes downloading more popular. Basically one guy gets the music off of the cd onto his computer, then it gets sent to a bunch of people and then the DRM is useless. If people can't put it on an mp3 player, they generally won't buy it.
