Hello all,

not sure if this has ever been suggested before, but have the administrators considered releasing the Encyclopaedia Metallum data under an open license such as Creative Commons? This would make it easier to share the data with other community projects such as Wikipedia and Wikidata.

(I don’t mean creative stuff such as the reviews, just the basic metadata such as names, dates, album titles, etc.)

This could benefit the project by providing incoming links from these popular websites, and at the same time it would help improve the quality of these other projects.
