I want to submit a band that plays melodic death metal. At the moment they are in the process of recording their new album. Here's the thing though. They have released an album under a different band name and it's not metal. They changed the name and the style, but the band is the same with only 2 band members that changed in the process (the 3 founding members are still in the band). What should I do? Can I submit both?

A band needs to have a metal release (as in already out and available) under their own name in order to get approved.

A non-metal release under another name doesn't count for the current incarnation. Neither does a metal release under another name. Neither does a non-metal release under the current name. Etc... We archive existing information. We do not include bands based on what they are currently recording and might release.
