I'm the director of "Terra Pesada," a documentary on heavy metal music in Mozambique. The film is currently in postproduction. I'd like to list the Mozambican bands with the Metal Archives. Except for visitors to the website terrapesada.com, so far from 119 countries, these bands haven't been heard outside Mozambique. After 500 years as a Portuguese colony and a 30 year fight for freedom, Mozambique remains one of the poorest countries in Africa. There is no recording industry. But there's a pretty vibrant concert scene when there's electricity. These bands are real. What are your rules as to listing them? Thank you.

They must have a release like every other bands. Read our rules http://www.metal-archives.com/content/rules

What constitutes a release? There are some MP3s of some of their music. I'm working on making longer videos of the songs than those currently on the film's website. Look at the website terrapesada.com, then tell me these kids aren't legitimate.

I noticed one of the bands is "Darkest Place", who are listed here.

We recently allowed "online only" bands, but only of they have a defined full length "album" with a set, defined track list, and at least a semi professional look to it, and digital distribution through a major or semi major digital marketplace, like a bandcamp or itunes. So collection of random mp3s will likely not cut it.

Any email or website contact information you might have on the bands would be greatly appreciated. The scene is virtually isolated, and the samples you have on the website seem intriguing. Let us know, or if you wish, PM me, if you have something interesting. We can always do the legwork if we know where to look.

Good luck with the documentary!
