While we're at track lengths, how about these cases when lengths have been added only for some of the tracks (example)? Is it OK to delete them and get a point for that?

definitely.

Well I don't argue, but would you be so kind to explain what aim does it serve? With this policy, we could delete all the band members from bands where any of them is unknown.

1. It looks like crap.

2. If the guy really owned the CD, he'd know all track lengths. If he can't fill all fields, it's not trustable info.

OK, it makes some sense.

Did someone just add a bootleg Metallica release?

Their latest album looks to be strikingly similar to Garage Inc...

It's not a bootleg, but a compilation of bands that influenced Metallica.

I've removed some of his points + sent a pm.

Sorry, I don't know again where to post it, but I had to laugh a long time by reading this comment. It goes about people submitting a record with x songs, but then recognising too late, that only x-1 or x-2 songs are on the record. Instead of going back and re-doing everything, they just skip that last one or two songs by filling in no songtitle(s).

One of them can be seen here, and I nearly pissed in my pants when I have read the comment that someone added plus the songtitle of the 9th non-existent track. I just don't want to simply lose this by reporting a mistake:
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=66488

And I may quote as this before it may get deleted:
"There are only 8 tracks on this LP. Whoever initially added this obviously
downloaded it in between handjobs and didn't know any better."

Pure killer, killer, killer.

Perfect, As the album was added by me. The user who submitted them has added no discography, so I have used the tracklist from rockdetector, where Mutoids and F.H. are listed as separate songs.
http://www.rockdetector.com/discography ... dings16501
There was 9 songs listed, but all with songtitles, so the guy must have modified the song titles somehow. That's what you get for being nice and trying to help other users...

Is it really necessary to have the compilations and the box set all as seperate releases? Wouldn't be better to just write in the additional notes of the box set that they can also be purchased seperately?

If I've just added the box, the tracklist would need to be added in the additional notes, which would look like crap, besides, that's how those albums were released.

I'm voting for a banner that says DON'T ADD INTERVIEWS OR REVIEWS FOR FAMOUS BANDS YOU FUCKING MORONS. Seriously, there are again at least 3, 4 people around adding stupid shit. Another adds catacombscds.com as official merch, describing it exactly like this, to every band he can find.

Also kuruybayu or something adds his fancy turkish (?) fanzine to every band too.

I can go weekly through the 'top 100' bands and remove useless links.

It is a little unclear in the guidelines. A new post on the front page could prove useful.

even better, it could be on the "add a link" page, just like it's written "Do NOT add bootlegs, VA compilation, albums without tracklist and re-releases" on the "add a CD release" page.

A brief question. As stated in the metal forum, I'll soon be doing interviews with some obscure bands who, incidentally, have no registered interviews on MA. Would it be considered point whoring if I linked the interviews that I did to the respective band's pages? I know it seems sort of dodgy since I did them myself, but I was wondering if since they didn't currently have any it would be acceptable. Thanks in advance.

If there isn't much info about them on the internet, like other interviews, then it should be ok.
