Okay, a bit less than 7 hours of challenge remaining if I'm correct. Tomorrow I'll give the final verdict, but as it won't be before I go back from work there will most probably be a small delay between the moment the mods give the final signal and the moment I post the definitive List.

I just submitted my 13th review for this challenge and my 70th review overall. Not sure how many more I'll do for the challenge, if any.

Just submitted my last effort. The Stargate by Mortiis turned out to take pretty much half the day to do, immensely challenging piece to analyse, and I'm still not sure if I have really done it justice. Still, there it is! I've enjoyed this whole thing. I'm hoping that I'll be able to motivate myself to review on a regular basis from now on, now that I've proven to myself that I can do it in circumstances other than the exceptional...

I had a few more planned, but just couldn't bring myself to do it and read some Poe instead. I got to twenty, that's good enough.

Half the day to write? Wow. You sure do put a LOT of effort into your work. Its nice to see.

I submitted two late one's because I got a sudden urge to do them. Was odd. Wasn't planning on it, it just happened! So I've done about 73 in total. I'm glad to be above the 500 mark of total reviews too. I wrote 221 reviews last year, the most I've ever done in a year and now I'm up to 111 already with several months to go, and probably another challenge at the end of the year. I should be able to beat it. Aiming for around 270.

Well, that's it, the challenge has ended and I have essentially destroyed my old record. Apparently, so did three of my compatriots as well, nice work everyone. I have to admit I spent so much time writing that I didn't take a whole lot of time to read many other reviews, something that I will try to remedy in the coming days.

Apparently OzzyApu isn't the only one who kept his head down and kept reviewing no matter what life throws his way, I just found out yesterday that my mother has breast cancer. If things go the way I think they probably will, I'll likely not be a major contributing factor in the next review challenge. In fact, I'm not sure what my internet activity is going to be for the next few months other than work related stuff.

Any way, I'll be back to hear the final tally. I still have upwards of 50 live albums, full length releases, EPs and a couple of DVDs that I didn't get to. I'll probably end up saving them and maybe play a more minor role in the next challenge where I will be focusing on getting that magic 8 point score on every single review. Most of the reviews I submitted were 5 pointers, I think one or two were 8 pointers, and only a couple were 3 points. Nonetheless, I think I did fairly well content wise based on my previously set standards for myself.

I look forward to Sean getting his final task done and being able to take a break, and I wish him many dreams of hot french lesbians.



Actually based on the fact that the last dozen or so reviews I put up before the end weren't counted when the site was updated, I probably reached 1000 at around 4 hours before the challenge ended.

My father had cancer, so I can sympathise.

Am I the only one around here who simply types the reviews in the box provided by MA and then copy pastes them to a word processor or notepad? I will check spelling when in doubt - for a long time, I used to write judge as J-U-D-J-E - but that's rare and mistakes you will find in my reviews are on account of typing too fast and proofreading too fast in turn. Honestly, I do feel bemused myself how I manage to remember the spellings of some words I use very rarely if at all, especially when I have trouble consciously memorizing work-related theory and all and also considering I don't often get to speak English in conversations in the real world.

We will see the final results in the evening, European time, I guess. My own participation was rather limited this time, I only managed five or so; the queue took most of my time, I've been spending my time repeatedly clicking "approve" instead of writing.

It had never occurred to me before, but I’ve just discovered H_U’s well-hidden secret to always win these challenges. Though, traditionally it’s the virgin capturing the unicorn and not the other way round. Damn modernity, everywhere.

Edit: At least the challenge hasn't exhausted me this time. I've written two reviews since it, one which is waiting to be accepted and is 1600 words long. My longest yet. Took me about two hours to write.
