Well, it's required to have proof of "metalness" and public distribution. If we can't listen to something, we can't judge it. If something isn't available to the wider public, it's not a valid release.

When was the last time Traktor (Cze) was evaluated?
I think - not sure ratio-wise - that their 2016 full-length can earn them a place on MA.
It's streaming here, should you wish to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBR3m4Vsrao
Heavy metal / hard rock / groovy punk 'n' roll.

EDIT: You know what, forget about it. There's not much metal in there. My bad. Hope you haven't started yet.

Hi everyone.

I've seen that Homewrecker (OH, USA) are blacklisted, and I think that it might be because of their pre-2014 releases. I agree that their two first works are basically grindcore/crust/hardcore, but their 2014 release, Circle of Death, includes a lot of death metal elements (in the form of powerful Entombed/Comecon/Grave buzzsaw riffs), making this band to be in the vein of Nails, Trap Them, Xibalba, Mammoth Grinder or Black Breath.

Here you have Circle of Death, and judge it: https://homewreckeroh.bandcamp.com/albu ... e-of-death

Thanks for reading me.

Quick answer since I'm about to head out, but I'm actually a fan of this band myself and I've always found them to be more similar to Enabler than anybody else. The death metal influence is there but it's still too much on the hardcore side of the equation.

I want to submit a band called Heugard from Indonesia, but they has been blacklisted. They play brutal death metal. You can listen to their songs here: https://www.reverbnation.com/heugarddea ... 1704-intro
And already released a physical demo. I saw my friend just uploaded their demo CD. Here is the actual pict: https://mobile.facebook.com/photo.php?f ... 5&__tn__=E
It was bottom right. Heugard Promo 2016

Yet another case where someone couldn't read and we had to blacklist the band to stop bullheaded resubmissions without the required proof.

That photo by itself would be a bit slim, but I see they offer a t-shirt/CD bundle on their Facebook page, so I've whitelisted them.

err, I'm curious, how could one get a hold of these releases before (since you had added them to your draft as digital albums)?

hm, I listened to Nobelium and I would bolden the "progressive" part rather than the metal one. Meaning it doesn't seem to be grounded in metal riffing. Blacklisting stands.[/quote]

Very well. We will see what the next album brings.

Hi, I would like to object to the rejection of my submission of the band Bound To Prevail from Malta. I believe this is due to the discography.

Here I am providing links which confirm the physical issue of our Demo & also official sites for purchase.

Hi,

It's possible a new appreciation for Druadan Forest, since they release a new album since they were blacklisted.

The band was actually accepted a few days ago, although that may have been a case of blacklist evasion... Looking into it.

So, I was wondering why Griva (from Former Yugoslavia) is not included. Sure they went glam/hard rock with their later albums, but their single from 1982 'Sitnije, Sestro, Sitnije / Tebi Je Važna Samo Lova' is a heavy metal record, just like their first and second album also. Could someone care to explain? Just wondering.

The blacklist simply says "hard rock". If you think the band has (a) metal release(s), post links so we can have a listen.

Constraint was blacklisted a couple of years ago because it's not metal enough, but I think that it should be reevaluated. Here it is a new track from their new album : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2C01Lj6YqM

Sounds fine, but listening to the entire album or at least a good portion of it would be ideal.

Oh, sure. I can totally see the hard rock sound, but the first two albums were a mix of hard and heavy, just like many band that are listed. Imo, I even think they tend more to be heavy metal than hard rock with heavy use of keyboards, but that's just me. Here are some samples from the single, first album and second album:

According to the note, Valor from the US was blacklisted for being more -core than Metal. Are you sure it is not the same band?

A quick sampling sounded like it might be acceptable, but I've asked a moderator who's more experienced with that genre to check it out. These bands can be tricky.

I asked the user who had submitted it with the wrong name, apparently it was a simple mistake on his part (we're (I am?) usually instantly suspicious because of regular evasion attempts, but this user is trustworthy). In any case, apparently the new album is acceptable, so let's keep the entry.

Just wanted to know why Please Drown is blacklisted? Sounds like a legit sludge/drone/doom band to me in vein of Primitive Man

But a cheap limited to 20 copies CDr... Not sure about the music, it sounds much more crusty and riffless than stuff like Primitive Man. I'd like some other opinions.

I wouldn't say that Naked City's avant blend of jazzgrind qualifies as metal, but I think their fifth album, Leng Tch'e might be grounds for reexamination. I think there is some definite, heavy sludge/drone riffing throughout this piece. I understand the riff is paramount in determining something's metal-ness, but I think the pummeling drums on this track also help solidify it as a (in my opinion) decidedly metal body of work.

Blacklisted in mid-2013 por being non-metallic hardcore/deathcore. Have they released anything that might warrant a reevaluation since?

As I said, wait until copies are being shipped. The label site still has it on pre-order. We require releases to actually be released.
