I got a pretty good haul this Christmas. I got a golfing cap, a calendar (which is useful as I balance work and study), a sports trivia game, a pasta maker, some measuring cups and spoons (which I really needed), and best of all, my sister got me a big screen TV. I feel bad, because all I got her was cider and chocolates. It was good cider and chocolates, but still. So did you get what you wanted, or were you disappointed this year?

I've been getting less and less for Christmas each year. This year has reached an all-time low, but I'm glad with what I got.

Devin Townsend Project - Epicloud
Hail of Bullets - III: The Rommel Chronicles
Judas Priest - Killing Machine

And some money for a Nintendo 3DS. But I should be glad, since Christmas is the only time I get to spend with my brother who's overseas for the entire year.

Of all the gifts I got, this one is by far the best:

(I've just come from my friend's house where Santa Claus had left this excellent book for me)

Happy holidays, everyone!

I got chocolate and money mostly. Plus an electric toothbrush. Bought myself Black Sabbath's Sabotage cd. My sister gave me woolen indoor shoes (they're very cute and self-made!) and some book about the murder of Kennedy. Well, that was about it. I guess I gave more presents this year than got, but I won't complain.

I don't do presents for christmas, or birthdays for that matter. I don't expect anyone to give me anything and I don't expect anything back. Makes life much easier. Everyone gets to keep their money and, in the end, buy the things they actually want to have.

I try to make exceptions for girlfriends, but I couldn't be bothered this year. So christmas dinner might get very awkward tonight.

If it was just me and my friends, that's how I'd do things. But I have a family who expect stuff.

I got a bottle of 12 years old Cardhu, and a book on everything by the most popular cosmologist in Finland. That's all, and I'm happy. But I did give the daughters tickets to the Candlemass gig in mid-January, and made a birch plywood TARDIS clothes closet for the firstborn, a fanatic Dr Who fan. It's still lacking a few bits and pieces, and instead of painting it, I had to attach a can of TARDIS blue and a paintbrush to it, due to extreme lack of time, but she seemed happy with it anyway. It's in her new room, which isn't yet in use due to the skylights in the house having some sort of a leak somewhere. Hence my lack of time. I'll sleep 12 hours a day for a while, and then attack the problems again.

Also, I'm 42 now. My late teens are going to be hell.

emperor - in the nightside eclipse DLP
Gillan - the glory years DVD
Grind madness at the BBC
Some earache compilation thing
pink floyd - the final cut
satyricon - satyricon
napalm death - FETO
Godflesh - streetcleaner
5 DVD boxset of highlights from the 2010/11 Ashes series
some sweets.
an amazon voucher (gonna get myself Devin townsend band's synchestra)

Really cool stuff, and everyone seemed to like the things I got them, which is really nice. Got my dad a ticket to Wacken 2014, sister an acoustic guitar, brother a big stack of CD's/PS3 games, and my mum a portable bluetooth speaker.

Christmas present to myself was a litre of Morgans spiced rum and 70cl of Russian Standard vodka, so I'm getting rather drunk today.

That has to be the greatest gift I've heard of. Not only that but having a dad that would want to go to Wacken would just be awesome. Anyways, my wife gave me Diablo III and the new Skyrim for Xbox360 plus the Atari flash back pack. I'm gonna be holed up in front of the t.v. for months to come :-D :-D

I've got a new smartphone, a microwave oven and plenty of new socks. If you don't get socks it's not a true Christmas.

I gave to my wife a Canon T3i camera. I expect to give to myself a new pair of headphones, I'm thinking about the Brainwavz HM5 or Audiotechnica ATH-M50.

Well yeah, I got new socks, underwear, and wife beaters but I just thought that stuff went without saying.

My mom, and her Husband picked me up some Iron maiden records which is cool for the fact that they know nil about heavymetal, and that it was Maiden they did their homework :metal: Other than that, the rest of my family picked me up a hockey jersey, and some much needed jeans, and winter wear. Pretty good this year.

I got a smartphone (which will apparently reduce my phone bill by, like, seventy bucks a month), some shirts, a thermos, some adventurous coffee, and a hat. And now the ritualistic Christmas day feeding habits may begin: shrimp and grits, followed by beef tenderloin later on.

I got a pretty nice flannel shirt and a TARDIS bed spread (which made me super excited). All in all, could have been a worse Christmas.

A pool that won't be ready 'till spring, a book on the history of exploration, a book about native americans (I don't know why I got that), 4 video games, 6 Hot Wheels cars, new shoes, some candy, & a PEZ dispencer. Not alot compared every other christmas I've had. I was hoping for a guitar.

I'm gonna wait until tomorrow when I'm back from my dad's to tell the full amount of what I got, but I will say that the centerpiece of the whole thing was a 24 inch TV screen which I've connected to the computer down here for use as both a TV monitor and computer monitor. I also hooked up the Blu Ray player to it, but I need to get another HDMI cable for that.

a bit useful regardless.. i also have reached a certain point to where i am even thankful for anyone in my life.. everyone that has helped throughout the years and fighting cancer has helped shine light within a deeper, part of the darkness..

I got some zany instruments (a harmonica, a kazoo and a recorder), a mug with Baphomet on it that says "Drink Coffee - Worship Satan", a kit to build a solar powered robot, a pair of nice beer glasses, a print of some cool Breaking Bad inspired art, a word game called Quiddler, a bottle of Ommegang Three Philosophers, a big book of trivia and some cash from my grandfather. I've got another Christmas thingy with some other extended family this weekend so I'll likely get more loot (probably will be clothes + gift cards).

Pretty good year!

Mostly gift cards here, to Amazon and The Exchange, which is great because I love buying music. Also received a wide variety of hot sauces from various people. My brother got me tickets to a beer tasting seminar and a good cigar. Oh yeah, and my uncle gave me a bottle of the Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, which was very cool of him to do since the stuff isn't available in Ohio. Overall a great holiday this year, for the fellowship above everything else. Got to drive all over God's green Earth since everyone we know wanted to see our son, so they can watch him shit his pants and cry for no reason or whatever.

Got some clothes, a new Carhartt jacket, A thursday ticket for MDF, some money/gift certificates, Hot sauce, a microphone/mic stand kit and some various other things. More importantly though I got to eat some good food, spend time with my family with minimal arguing and some time to relax from work.

Edit: I didn't get socks this year and I am upset about it. I got a haul of long black socks last year and they disappeared within four months.

Got a pretty good haul this year:
Squash gear
Bottle of Jack
Alice In Chains - Devil Put the Dinosaurs Here vinyl picture disk
Tickets to Arcade Fire
Over $100 in gift certificates
A bit over $100, should get a lot more money from relatives in the next few days
A decent amount of clothes
Terabyte external hard drive (the one thing I really wanted)
A $20 House of Horvath cigar
12 tallboys of Guinness

Overall very enjoyable Christmas. Lots of good food, had a nice dinner party with the extended family at the grandparent's place. The external hard drive really is the greatest thing ever since I broke my old one and have been without a lot of my music for the past few months. The Alice In Chains thing was really cool, too. Very exited to smoke a $20 cigar, the most I've ever spent on one is $6.

I managed to get the Red Ryder BB Gun and a DVD of A Christmas Story in my family's gift exchange last night so I'm pretty much set for life as far as this Christmas stuff is concerned. Other than stuff like that, I don't want much for Christmas so I usually just get a bunch of CDs from my mom. My girlfriend and I are also exchanging our gifts when she gets home from work tonight so I am curious to see what she got me.

Me and my wife got a set of wine glasses which was pretty cool. I dont drink wine, but hey, doesn't mean I wont start :P

Most of the gift giving was directed at my little girl. She got 5 baby dolls, a toy vacuum and stroller, some tablet, and the spotlight of our get-together haha.

^ Yeah, I definitely get that after this Christmas. My sister had a kid in April so this was the kid's first Christmas. Got him some neat stuff (a wood puzzle for infants, a train made of colored wood blocks, a stuffed turtle that projects stars out of its back onto the ceiling) and seeing that kid get super excited about that stuff was way more rewarding than any present I've received the past several years.
