26th March 2013: Afternoon nap.

I am alone in Paris, for reasons unknown, and travelling light. I'm due to fly to another unspecified European destination, and buy a cheap last-minute ticket on a huge futuristic (and decidedly un-flight-worthy) airliner. The interior resembles that of an ocean liner or cross-channel ferry, with many different levels, cabins, bars, shops, etc. There are multiple fuselages. I am having difficulty locating my designated seat (the level indicated on the ticket appears not to exist), and wander into a central dining area with café style tables and chairs. Sitting at one of the tables is an old girlfriend (let's call her April) and her mother, we haven't seen each other for years. We acknowledge each other silently but do not speak, and she makes no move to approach me in spite of our extremely coincidental meeting here in France. I respect her privacy and continue on my quest for a seat.
Suddenly the plane begins to accelerate along the runway – there is no warning, no announcement over the tannoy, no seatbelt signs light up, everyone is utterly unprepared. Myself and an air hostess are half way up a staircase, and we cling to each other and brace ourselves on the handrail as best we can. The whole plane is swerving and juddering, luggage and rubbish fly through the air. We have a view out of the front of the plane and can see that the runway is rapidly running out, and beyond it is sea (yes, in Paris...). I close my eyes and wait for the impact, but at the last moment the pilot pulls up and we lurch into the air.
Everyone is picking themselves up and clearing the mess, the injured are being treated, the sense of relief is enormous. I notice we have not gained much altitude – we are back over land and various stereotypical French landmarks rush past the windows - but we seem to be stable. I look around for April and see that she and her mother are shaken but okay. I give up on the search for my designated seat and settle at a dining table across the room from April – I'm here if she decides to talk to me, and very much hope that she does, I've missed her and we parted badly with issues unresolved.
Before anything else can happen, the plane hits a pocket of turbulence, and one of the fuselages breaks away with a thunderous crack. We are back over water, and plunge instantly into the freezing sea. Everyone dies on impact or drowns, and just as I take a lungful of salt water, I wake.

I haven't written in my dream journal in a while, but I do post my dreams elsewhere... I think this is the most recent one I've posted on another board:

Spoiler: show
Quote:
I dreamt I was at a house (apartment?) party w/ D***l, and I think S***a was next to him, but he was basically comatose in the dream because he lacks relevance in my heart, so he was just kind of "there".

It was weird... we sat on the couch all night and got drunk and laughed heartily until the sun came up. It had to be late afternoon by then. then I think S***a went to a back room, and D***l went to get a pizza in his maroon-colored van.

It was exactly like this, only a van:
Image
[Note: This guy doesn't even drive]

I was supposed to be going with him, so I put on some sunglasses and musical shoes that played this song:

It was a bright, sunny day outside when I jumped out onto the front porch where there were a bunch of ditzy, southern white chicks and other subhumans from the party. I thought it would be really funny to jump out and dance away in my musical shoes. I distinctly remember jumping down the steps in reverse and worrying I'd fall over (which I did not [insert smug douche with sunglasses emoticon MA doesn't have]).

Next thing I remember, I'm in the van with D***l, ordering a pizza from an Arby's drive-thru.

What a great dream. :')

I have no idea why, but my dreams have been intensely vivid lately. I normally have vivid dreams, but not with such frequency. Haven't started (or stopped) any drugs/medication, either, so it seems to be out of nowhere. Most of them have been really morbid, visually dreary, depressive and occasionally violent, that one posted above being an obvious exception.

[reads "It was exactly like this, only a van:" and scrolls down - pic was not what I expected!]

I have very few dreams that I remember, but when I do they tend to be big blockbusting cinematic affairs with a very clear beginning, middle and end. Daytime naps yield more vivid dreams than night time ones. This one was less dramatic than usual I guess, but it was a very strongly emotional one, I woke pretty depressed and had an urge to contact 'April' to tell her about it. I thought better of it and resisted in the end.

I've gotten in the habit of keeping my journal by my bed and writing in it as I wake up in the night. Some odd patterns emerging.

what kind of car is that, Raytonian? It kind of looks like a mid-70's era Ford Pantera, but with some kind of custom bodywork done to it?

I started keeping a dream journal a couple years back. Most of the time they arent frankly worth sharing, in fact about half the time I can't remember a single detail, or if I can, it's more like, well, dreaming about soemthing like running errands in my old hometown, or hanging out at a friends house, with nothing specifically memorable. But when they are exceptionally vivid or exciting, then those are pretty intense and fun to recall. I might relate one of these later.

I have not dreamed much as of late, but when I was on some doctor prescribed ssri shit back in the day I would have crazy vivid dreams often involving bizarre otherworldly landscapes/creatures, or if not that, giant waves in a violent storm. Either one of those two every night for years.

Re: journals. I kept one for a while back in my teens, and agreed it's interesting. Definitely keep it next to the bed and write them up fresh, you'd be surprised how much detail is lost by the time you get round to reading it back! Unfortunately, one night during a sleepover I spotted that two of my female friends (one of whom would have featured heavily in those days!) had sneakily found it and were reading it. I destroyed it there and then, and have never bothered since.

But I might now...

My tactic is to keep it electronically. I'll scribble down notes and key details on a notepad (if I'm awake enough to do so,) then the next morning, type it up into a word document and toss away the note paper. And, I will never record or log any romantic/erotic dreams for the exact reason described above.

Large waves are a common motif in many of my dreams, for some reason. Waves that get progressively larger and more violent as I'm standing on the beach. Another common one: Having to go back to school and enroll in random classes.

Very wise! I never knew how much of it they read, but thankfully there were no particular consequences (that I'm aware of).

Haven't had this one for years, but I often used to dream I was on top of a very narrow cylindrical tower about 3 or 4 feet in diameter, but impossibly tall - ground not in view. This tower would sway back and forth as I clung on for dear life. Sometimes other towers would sway close enough for me to cross over if I was feeling bold, but solid ground never featured.

Spoiler: show
I’m standing in a bay or canyon overlooking a body of water, but I don’t believe it’s the ocean. I’m on a bridge (either constructed or of land) and the cliffs are raised well above me, but they aren’t too near on either side. It is day.

A great roar or tearing sound could be heard. With a flash, 5 objects fall from the sky with a low trajectory, roughly 30 degrees. They look like stone, and while I don’t recall them flaming, they did leave a trail in the sky. They strike the water consecutively, bounce, and IMMEDIATELY upon ascending stop mid-air and burst open. As each one opens an incredibly loud and powerful sound bellows forth – the sound was somewhere between music, and the constant roar of a tornado, and an atomic blast. The sound is awesomely terrifying. It sounds something like a choir. It is ominous and intense, shaking every bone in my body along with the earth under it.

My dad is next to me. I think I asked him what it was, or maybe he just said, “… Like Noah’s flood…” At first, I thought he meant there was going to be a flood; then, I realized what he meant. God was actually here, not to cleanse the earth, but to judge it. I begin pleading with God in my mind to forgive me and to not destroy me, but like every other time, it felt like no one was listening.

A moment later, I’m standing in the same spot, and it is mostly dark. The water is now pouring out over a ledge directly in front of me, as if the earth had collapsed. A few feet ahead, floating, is a massive stone doorway. The door is framed of highly ornate stone; the color is of rust/brick/clay. On the door is a massive face which seems good only for envisioning strength and fear. The door opens, and out comes the Lord.

Although I distinctly remember standing before him and speaking directly to him, I have no recollection of what he looks like. I know only that I saw him.

I began asking him to please forgive me, that I would do anything he asked, etc. etc., but he didn’t seem to be listening. Even when he spoke to me, it didn’t seem like he was. I apologized for not believing. He made some comment along the lines of how sorry everyone becomes once they know they’re wrong. I told him that my parents had me baptized shortly after my birth, and though I had lost my way, to please consider that fact in my judgment. My dad was pleading with me as well. He turned his back to me and began walking slowly through the door.

I yelled, “Please wait!” And he stopped but did not turn. I told him if he allowed me to live, I would spend the rest of my existence serving him exclusively, participating in no other activity, and only bringing others to him. He walked through the doorway (the other side of which was an incomparable darkness) and the stone doors closed behind him. I knew my plea was ignored. I turned to my dad, quickly said “Goodbye, Dad. I love you.” We were both emotionally broken. I slowly began to sink through reality to a different place; everything darkened and dissipated like black smoke.

I was in a large dark cave like place with many others.

This was definitely one of the scariest dreams I ever had. And people actually think the religion doesn't drive fear into its adherents. Even in the 19 or 20 years of my belief, I was afraid of it. I've been free of it for roughly 5 years now, and the fear still manages to occasionally break through my reason and grip me. I really can't imagine doing that to another person. :nono:

re journals, mine is pretty brief as I try and wake up, switch on the light, jot it down and go back to sleep. Usually 2 or 3 line entries. A recent one, for instance, reads:

"strange semi-erotic dream about young, rich, semi queer group of friends.Cropped haired 1920's style lesbians feature heavily. Also strange elements of beating up assholes from school, aboriginal suicide and shooting NZ native wildlife."

or

"at a casino with Rob (my brother). He spends $85 playing roulette. Had to fight batman and superman. They chase me through a hospital. I find a jetpack and escape."

I dont think that any single one of the entries is particularly insightful or interesting. But keep the habit up for a year or so, even in those very brief entries, and you'll start to see some odd patterns. I'm seeing way more pop-culture stuff pop up than I would have thought for instance, given that I'm not really into that stuff.

I seldomly remember any of my dreams, but those I do are always weird and mildly psychedelic.

One of them consisted of me just walking in a random city, I can't remember any details about it except that it had lots of tall buildings, probably a city I saw in some movie, but the buildings were strangely, perfectly geometrical. What was weird about it is that there was a lot of people walking too, but they didn't really care about the laws of physics. I saw people walking along with me, people walking up the walls of the buildings, probably some ceilings too, people walking forward yet moving backwards (not moonwalking) and all of them wore suits as if they were office guys and none of them talked or made a sound. I can't remember much except just walking and staring at everything not very interested.

I have memories of other bizarre dreams and I'll post them when I can remember enough details.

I had a dream where I shot my father in the back of the head. It began with me standing behind him at a bit of a distance and he had his back turned to me. It was in a parking lot of a large city, out on the edge somewhere, and everywhere had this greenish glow. The city reminded me of The Matrix. I didn't have the gun in my hand at first, but in an instant I was standing right behind my father with the gun pointed to his head. He asked me "Oh, what's that?" in the most innocent voice, but I pulled the trigger without answering him. Time didn't really gel within the dream because it felt like I was standing there for an eternity, but at the same time I was instantly surrounded by Police. They asked me "What happened here?" but I didn't answer them and they didn't wait for an answer either. They handcuffed me and put me on a bus by myself, and I sat at the very back just staring out the window. We drove around the city a bit, which I thought was weird for the dream since it seemed like everything happened instantly, but after a while we arrived at the prison. I don't remember getting off the bus, but I remember being in this half basement half dungeon that still had some light shining into it. And all I did after that was wait.

29th March, I'm staying with my sister and her husband, having difficulty sleeping on a tiny airbed in the lounge downstairs. Two clocks ticking combine to create a sound uncannily like "Bird-shit... bird-shit... bird-shit...". I've heard birdshit many thousands of times now, but eventually I nod off.

Very rarely am I fortunate enough to have dreams containing erotic content, so I'm loving the gorgeous blonde girl (who bears more than a passing resemblance to a waitress I'm crushing on from a café back home, only she's Russian in the dream) standing right up against me. She's showing me her baby gecko, and places it on my shoulder. "His skin is beautiful" I say, stroking him, and she smiles. With a boldness I don't possess in real life, I stroke the girl's cheek - "So's yours..." and we kiss. Things are progressing very nicely, and just as they turn from romantic to x-rated, something wakes me.

GODDAMMIT!!! My head has slipped off the airbed to the floor, and I've inhaled a long hair from the carpet. 10-15 minutes of hacking and swallowing and sounding like fucking Gollum ("Bird-shit... bird-shit... bird-shit..."), and I drift back off.

I'm an assassin. My target is an equally talented assassin from a rival organisation (instinctively I know it's the blonde, here endeth the fun and games). I'm disembarking from an aeroplane (the dream from a couple of nights ago has stuck with me) but it's OK in this dream-world, assassins are perfectly legit members of society, as long as they check their weapons into a locker designed for the purpose. When I boarded, her gear and mine were in there together, though I didn't see her on the flight. When I look into the locker, only my gear is there. Shit, she's beaten me to it! A chill runs down my spine, accompanied by a burst of adrenaline which wakes me up.

I sleep no more that night.

("Bird-shit... bird-shit... bird-shit...")

I saw the blonde tonight in a chippy (first time I've seen her out of work). She totally blanked me. :(

Last night I was doing a boat trip with a pop singer but I can't remember what led up to it. Then the sea went all stormy and threw me into the ocean. The boat with the other dude still in it stranded on a beach but I was nowhere to be found (I often dream from the perspective of the narrator rather than my own). The waves threw me on a different beach of the same island. I woke up to some mysterious female looking at me but it was like I was hallucinating. When I regained clarity she was gone. I walked down the beach and found a group of strangers whom the pop singer had already joined. They had built a cool fort out of wood for reasons unclear. I felt like they were hiding something from me, but they seemed like they were nice enough. I didn't tell them about my encounter, though.

I was really disappointed when I woke up from this one. So many unanswered questions.

I imagine they were actually sacrificing people to appease a dark power that was also the menace they had built the fort against. The female was a spirit of the shoreline who rescued people from drowning.

What made this dream strange was the after effects of it upon waking up. It was sort of a combination of freaky dream and scary/supernatural experience. I really have no real explanation.

I was in an abandoned, crumbling city that was gradually being reclaimed by the encroaching forest. And the vampires were chasing me. Slavering undead, blood thirsty ravening ghouls. I ran, through crumbing brick buildings, weed-covered lots and an urban wasteland of cracked concrete, where everywhere big trees were sprouting. They were getting closer. Finally, they cornered me underneath a disused bridge abutment. I could see their snarling, vacant expressions as they surround me, my back to the concrete bridge piling. One of them whips out a broken crack pipe and slashes me with it. I raise my hand to block the blow but the glass cuts my hand and slices me across the belly. As they move in to feed on the fresh blood, I wake up in bed, as the alarm goes off to wake me for work.

I turn on the light and look down at my right hand and sure enough, there is a cut across the palm. Alarmed, I stagger into the bathroom to rinse and disinfect the wound. My hand quickly stops bleeding and, as I get dressed, soon the cut fades as if by magic, and by the time I'm in my car on my way to work, it is gone without a trace. THAT was the freaky part.

Looking back, my only theory is that some part of my brain was not fully awake when I first staggered into the bathroom, as I was in the middle of a very vivid and deep dream when the alarm shook me out of it, and somehow my still-waking mind tricked me into thinking I had been cut.

Had a dream where I was trying to escape from a black and grey helicoper, the helicopter could somehow easily pass under 3 metre high sections of joined school portables and also transform randomly into mini-Godzilla. Nobody was driving the helicopter, no, just the force of pure evil guiding it along it's path, trying it's hardest to cut me up with it's 146 meter blades. So I was there hiding behind the portables, sweating and dreading the attack of the chopper while seemingly at random turning into George Costanza from Seinfeld. A weird sensation becoming an overweight bald man while running from the fire of Godzilla, it all felt rather hopeless as dreams often do. Where could I go in a sea of school portables, trying to stay alive by using the same tactic of running at the last minute, my dream was void of change. I could have possibly hid in one of the portables but they all seemed solid and fake like a piece of lego, I could have run on the outskirts towards something else but I feared it would get me. It's funny to me in hindsight but I genuinely feared for my life.

Oxenkiller - That's a weird one. Don't recall ever having a dream 'follow' me into real life! Often the emotions will stick with me, to the point of waking up in tears occasionally, and a particularly strong one can affect my mood for days.

I had that happen to me. I don't really remember the dream anymore, but I do remember the end of it: I was having a knife fight, and after a couple of seconds I got stabbed in my right hand. I immediately awoke after that, and I could actually feel a stinging sensation in my right hand. I turned on the light, looked at my hand, all was fine.

Now that I look back on it, the stinging sensation reminds me of one of those horrible muscle spasms everyone sometimes has. I guess my brain incorporated the real life pain into my dream?

This one really fucked me up:

Fell asleep on a bus. And in my dream it was about me falling asleep on a bus. When I woke up (in the dream), I couldn't see anything out the windows. Not that I was blind, or the windows frozen or anything, there just was nothing to see. The bus had driven off beyond the edge of physical existence.

The other passengers weren't concerned by this. They just blankly stared out the front of the bus as if they still knew where they were going. As I called to one if them, I saw that she was a floating, disembodied spirit, and so was everyone else! The bus was driving through the mists between this world and the next. Only I was still alive, and didn't want to go to the afterlife. I kept ringing for the driver to stop, but of course there was only one more stop...

At that point I woke up, to see that I'd far overslept my stop, and the bus had continued out the rural east end of town. There was nothing but flat, fallow farmland. For that split second before I got my bearings, I wondered in panic whether I had actually died.

Henkkjelle, that's some weird-ass stuff! When your real events get subsumed into a dream, gaaaahhh that's creepy.

I had a similar thing. Dreamed I was a raccoon, running up a tree to escape being eaten by a wolf. When I woke up, I was in a tree with no idea how I got there. And I managed to stay asleep for a few hours up there

@severzhavnost - Interesting how you (as a city-dweller, apparently) both consciously and unconsciously equate the countryside with death / hell, and the city with life / paradise! I'd say I was just the opposite!

Got a question for you guys because I had a dream last night that had me waking like I was on fire (by that I mean I felt very, very uncomfortably heated). When I'm fast asleep (or usually when I'm awaking from a deep sleep) I get dreams that I can't control. I get to the realization that I am dreaming, but I'm not in control of the events of what go on. I can't just dream of a super powers to escape my problem or obstacle. Whatever I'm capable of doing in real life ends up what's happening, and that usually has me losing.

So this one last night had me doing some track stuff (running with a team and all) and then I was in some mechanic shop (very out of my element to begin with) in the back reading a shopping catalog and I hear / notice someone right outside the open door. I then notice they're black, wearing sunglasses and a hat as to conceal the face, and were over 6' tall in a blue-ish jumpsuit. Totally silent. At that moment I realize it was an intruder and they start walking forward. I had a boxcutter on the table that was maybe a foot from my body, but I cower and back away in complete fear. My body starts heating up considerably, my heart trembles, and my arms get weak to where I can't act rationally. The guy then walks in, takes the boxcutter, and starts attacking me. I do a poor job of trying to defend myself - again, piss-scared and feeling very hot - and I'm eventually killed. I then wake up as if snapped out of it - and my chest is very, very, very hot.

It's not the first time I've had dreams where I've been on the "losing end," or ones where I've performed underwhelming at something or lost a dream fight. Feels like every one of them is a blow to my confidence in my abilities, like I have in real life anyway.

Two dreams I've had recently have adhered in my mind quite strongly - as with most of my dreams, they're bizarre.

i) This dream felt very narrative - while there wasn't literal "voice-over" telling me what was going on, the flow of events felt very clear and ordered. I can't remember the beginning, but around half way through, a pathogen/drug hybrid of some kind which causes mutation, but is also extremely addictive, is spreading through the world's population. Some people have taken it upon themselves to spread it using subtle injection technology which is barely felt by the recipient. At some point, I make it to a huge concrete spire, the base of which is not unlike a multi-story car-park; I climb, meeting with a few people who use the building as a refuge and attempted hospital, from the mutated people now wondering around most of the unnamed city. Later, I head out again, onto a cobbled street - unfortunately, someone spreading the pathogen gets me, and I try to make it back to the sanctuary only to find that it has become a sort of drug-den for the pathogen, with unresponsive, extensively mutated junkies, with oddities ranging from scorpion like tails to frog's legs, sprawled all over the place. I felt delirious, or, more so than the usual deliriousness of dreams, as the whole of humanity succumbs and is decimated. As I begin to wake up, I suddenly become aware that somewhere higher up the spire, beyond where anyone had reached, a super-computer concludes its calculations on how to cure the pathogen; it spreads into the atmosphere. An optimistic end.

ii) The second one, on the night after, is a lot more simple. I'm trying to get home after Uni, but a giant flying creature, a bit like the thing from the movie "Q The Flying Serpent" keeps picking me up and killing me. I think it was one of those reality/video game hybrid dreams, because I kept re-spawning, and it happened again and again, but I was still terrified during the dream.

Does anyone else experience game/reality hybrid dreams? I constantly find myself meeting all sorts of vicious foes in my dreams, and suddenly realise I'm doomed because I can't find the controller to do the recharge-health-cheat.

@lurkist, that's an interesting interpretation. But reaching a little bit! It was more just the fact of the field being empty that felt like my dreamed "afterlife". That it was the countryside is coincidence, I'm sure i would have been equally freaked out to find myself in an empty parking lot, for example.

I really agree with you, nature=life, city=death. Once when i sleepwalked during a nightmare with a wolf chasing me, i somehow got outside and climbed a tree to safety :)

I had a dream where I was going to a swans concert and it turned out that the lead singer was giving a lecture instead of a concert, so I left.

I'm a ghost who can float around a big old house with (seemingly) no one in it, and I finally think to go check whats under the floor boards, so I float on down and the girl I dated in high school is there in the crawlspace and she's dead too, but can't float through walls so she's just stuck down there all the time (her eyes are all weird so I assume she's a vampire). So we fuck each other's brains out and she tells me she wants to start dating again and I say yes, and then we hug, but since we're both dead the tighter we hug the colder it gets, which I find incredibly interesting. Oh no, there's the doorbell. See you later I'm gonna float back up to the main part of the house and answer the door. It's a family of people I've never even seen before! come on in, make yourselves at home! They don't seem to mind that I am a full-body apparition and go upstairs to start making dinner. I try to make good with my new family, all the while whenever I get a free second I zoom downstairs and slip it in my ex who's down there with her legs open, and it's really fun and kinky since we both know that the family upstairs has no idea what's going on. This continues for the rest of the dream, but since I keep leaving these strangers every time they look away I quickly lose track of the conversation we are having and I have to adlib it and make sure they think I was actually listening.

It was like the best dream I've had in forever. I'm not very knowledgeable of dream interpretation, but I think it means that I'm meant to murder my ex girlfriend and keep her body in my crawlspace to use as a fucktoy.

I dreamt that Danny Devito was chasing me around, trying to get me to admit that Rocky won in the first film. This went on for a really long time until I got fed up and decked him in the face.

I had a weird one last night. I was in an unknown city that was getting bombed. At first I thought myself safe as the missiles were falling a bit far but they kept getting closer and I started hearing people scream and run everywhere. Then I found a TV in a TV shop, just like the movies, which was showing some live broadcast of what was happening around the city. People were attacking women with sticks and baseball bats and then I remembered that I just left my girlfriend alone to get back home. When I started thinking about how to find her (cellphone not working) I woke up.

Had a fucking weird dream this night. I was playing video games with a friend and my brother in some shitty ass rundown hotel room(which was actually a house, with a backyard and all, don't know how that works). In the middle of night, while everyone was sleeping, I hear some suspicious noises out in the yard and decide to check it out. There was a methhead rapper(this particular guy keeps appearing in a lot of my dreams, in this one he was identified as MC Ride from Death Grips, but he looks nothing like him)anyway, I see this dude stumbling aroud my house, so I sneak up on him and hit him in the head with a shovel. He drops dead in the moment. Took me a few seconds to realize that "holy shit I just killed MC Ride", so I wake up my friend and ask him to help me dispose of the body. We saw his limbs off and then stuff his remains inside a bag. I go all the way down to the hotel lobby to the streets to get into my car, and then I drive to some bridge, where I toss the bag with the corpse in a river. And that's how it ends.

Sorry to revive an (my) old thread, but oh man this one was intense. I had trouble getting to sleep - I heard 5 A.M. chime on the church clock outside and it was all over by 7. It was one of those ultra-cinematic dreams with a definite start, middle and end, original soundtrack, the works. I wish I remembered more of it, but here's the gist.

It all centred around a movie/dream/collective conscience of an audience, of which I was a member. The movie was called "The Scorch Of [city name]" * and was about a sort of hippie commune with a difference - they appear to be somewhat magical! I (we the audience) enter the commune all sceptical about the whole free livin' free lovin' vibe, but gradually we meet each of the main characters who tell their story, and take us on a 'journey' (definite magics happening here). These journeys are like mini dreams/movies within the dream/movie within my dream - usually once you get sidetracked like that in a dream it continues on its own tangent, but in this case it always returned to the level above. Eventually, I (we) are accepted into the commune (a strange scene that involved visiting the main characters' living quarters like a behind-the-scenes bit and seeing their wives, children etc going about their lives) and at the very end we ourselves attain the magical powers. I ran outside, into a cornfield, and just let rip - I was flying and it was no longer a cornfield, it was time and space itself rendered in a vibrant blue and cloudy white, there was no ground, no limitation, I whooshed through it, down below what was the ground moments before, (the music was so intense at this point), then I spun back (the whole scene kind of jerking like a computer game overloading a graphics card) and there in the sky was written - "The Scorch Of [city name]" - The End. I had completely forgotten it was a movie at that point, but I became aware that I was slouched back in a chair in the cinema, surrounded by the other audience members in various states of undress (I myself was naked from the waist down). Someone up front said "Was I dreaming?" and everyone kind of giggled nervously! There was a lot of discussion back and forth, before everyone gradually got their Adam and Eve on and began covering up (unenthusiastically) and shuffling out. I left with a chick on my arm, and then (true to form) woke up for real before anything could happen.

I'm not only protecting my location here, it is assumed the movie's title was different for each audience member.

A dream I had a few nights ago:

My dream was that I woke up in my own bed, and I felt there was something standing in my room. When I tried to turn my head towards it, it was going in such a slow speed, and when I finally got my head around I ended up back in the original position.
This happened over and over again. Until I finally woke up for real. Even then I was not sure if I was dreaming or awake.
Strange stuff :P

I had two last night:

1. Someone was outside my house trying to cut the back of my car (which I got rid of years ago and always hated) off. I asked him to be quiet and went back in the house (and locked the door).

2. There was a hair in my mouth so I pulled it but it was stuck to the bottom of one of my teeth. I pulled really hard and it was attached to a surgical pin which then came out and a metal filling (cavity I think Americans call it) fell out. I was scared because I'd have to phone the dentist to sort it out on a Sunday because it would be really expensive, but then I remembered my work give me dental insurance so it would be free.

This one happened last night and it was super vivid.

I dreamt that I was going to this really trashy, dungeon-like bar with my girlfriend and a few of my friends. It was raining fucking heavily and everything had this dark, industrial area feel about it. I was wearing a wet-suite(???) that wasn't zipped up??? So my girlfriend decided that this isn't the place for her and she went to some super fashionable club or something, of which I didn't want any part. My friends quickly dispersed down into the dungeon bar, getting wasted pretty quickly. I was super bored with no one to talk to and for some reason no matter how much I drank I couldn't get a buzz going. So sitting alone by this rancid, candle lit table, I stare around and speculate at people's back stories(which I do often in real life). The next thing I know, Bill Hicks walks up to the table, pulls out a chair, and without even glancing at me lights up a cigarette and sips on his whiskey and kind of impersonates my staring. After a while I ask him what the hell he's doing there, and why he came to sit at the table(I was kind of rude, fuck knows why).

So he starts to psycho-analyze me, telling me I need to chill the fuck out and just go with the flow, not let anything get to me or get overly emotional about stuff. Our conversation becomes increasingly philosophical, and the next thing I know the setting changes to some penthouse hotel suite filled with half-naked, highly pretentious people and lots and lots of drugs, Bill seems to be completely oblivious to the change but I can't help but be a little surprised. So eventually we decide to go for a drive, but now we have to walk back to my car which is parked in the super dodgy industrial area.

We walk all the way there, and the moment my car is in sight, Bill and I spot this gang of dudes with pipes and chains, staring at us. Bill says: "Stay calm", then two moments later dashes for my car and yells: "RUN!!!". I run to my car, which by this time has already been piped and smashed pretty well, the gang right on top of us(one guy dove onto my bonnet), I barely get the car started as they are ripping at the door handles, and we get away with some extreme driving, most of it not on road but through building sites and shit.

I woke up just as we were properly in the clear. Weird...

I had an extremely vivid nightmare about a parent dying. I was shaken up for most of the morning.

Mine tend to be, from what i know, quite common for people in the early stages of recovery from substance abuse:

In my first few months it usually went something like this:
I spend ages trying to get my drug of choice, after going through different ordeals to obtain it, i realize i dont have the paraphernalia i require to use it. So i go on further adventures to gather said paraphernalia, usually improvising quite creative contraptions as the real thing is either out of my reach or once i get it its somehow defective. Once i have everything ready, i try preparing my bits and everything that can go wrong starts going wrong; dodgy lighter, shaky hands, etc... Right as all my efforts are about to pay off and all thats left is getting it inside me, someone interrupts me. I move and go elsewhere and get everything out again, only to realize something is missing again, a part of the agonizing process i went through to get everything ready has somehow undone itself, so i will go on a mission to get whatever it is back in place... The cycle starts again, and can repeat itself 2-3 times before i actually manage to use the drugs. Thats when i wake up. -Right before- the substance enters my bloodstream.
I remember desperately trying to get back into those dreams.

Recently i have ones where i suddenly realize ive used drugs (i dont use in the dream, i start the dream with the knowledge that i have used) and then try to figure out what to do next. Do i hide it, pretend it didnt happen? Does anyone know? Do i tell someone? Should i just leave it at that, or might as well carry on now ive started?
Those are a relief to wake up from.

Well, none of my dreams have been recently interesting. However, about 2 or so weeks ago I had a dream where apparently James Hetfield and Rick Astley were big musical rivals. This had almost nothing to do with the dream itself, but just was in it.
