Whoa boy, I've got a great story for you all. The details are a bit hazy, so some of the details were filled in by the friend whose room I stayed in last night.

As I stated last night, I went out to celebrate my birthday with a large group of friends at karaoke, which I go to every Thursday. I sang a few songs, had (way more than a) few drinks, and had a generally awesome time. I'd had as much to drink as I could while still being somewhat coherent, and this girl that I...well, I haven't been "seeing," but spending quite a bit of time with, took me to her house for the night. he has two roommates that are a couple, and this is where the story begins. After both her and I have gone to sleep i sneak out of her bed to use the rest room. her door, and her roommates' doors are right next to each other. So, being drunk, I stumbled out of the bathroom and ::sigh:: into the wrong goddamn room. I make my way to the bed, and notice two people are in it. I say "what the fuck" out loud. Well, The male roommate woke up and in absolutely no time at all, got up, turned on his light, had me by the throat, and up against the wall. I can't really remember what he said, but I did my best to tell him that I got confused on my way out of the bathroom, and that going into his and his lady's room was a complete accident. According to my friend, they thought I was "watching them sleep." I've been banned from the house for now, which is whatever, but the best part is, which I learned later, that there was a loaded 9' getting pressed into my chest and he was ready to pull the trigger until he realized who I was. Granted, i totally understand why he was spooked, but damn.

I too understand why the guy was spooked, but that would have been such a sad and stupid way for anybody to die, and with guns around, it could have happened so easily. I don't want to turn this into another debate on the merits of owning firearms (I'm on the fence about the issue anyway) but this is the sort of reason why my gut tells me I would much rather live in a place where people generally don't have them, even though my brain insists that in some locales it might be a pretty good idea to stash your gun near your bed...
