No, seriously, what is this? Is modern rock some weird ultra fusion of post-grunge pop punk that ultimately morphed into a Nickelback-influenced generation where the only way to get on the radio is to whine and play the simplest ass riffs ever, and completely remove solos in lieu of breakdowns?
How did we get here? And what the hell is 'modern rock' to begin with?

Always thought that the pop rock sound of nowadays and the 2000's probably came from 90's grunge bands like Nirvana. It'll just keep going on and on, and nowadays I've been hearing more and more electronica influences, so you can guess what the 'modern' rock of the 2010 decade will sound like.

Alt rock, pretty much. Part post-grunge, part indie, now some dubstep bullshit is sinking in... I'd almost say it's evolved into Bro rock now.
