It's time for me to get new speakers, and was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions.
Has to be under $50.
I've come across too many speakers that give off too much bass, basically made for hip hop/rap and pop/dance music.
I need speakers that work great with metal music, and work well even at high volume.
If you have any questions, I'll answer them.

If I were you I'd get a nice pair of bookshelf speakers rather than PC speakers.

I've heard good things about these, as far as budget speakers go:

I personally have these and can't complain, although they're out of your range:

Coming from Logitech or other PC-style speakers, bookshelf speakers tend to sound a lot better.

You'll need an amp too, but you can get one that'll work just fine for $20. I use this:
