I used the search function and found only slight mentioning of this topic so I thought I'd try and get a discussion going.

Are any of you into psytrance namely darpsy? If you aren't familiar with this kind of music and you can tolerate electronic music I strongly suggest giving it a try. It is a sub-genre of the psytrance genre for those of you who haven't heard of it. The name tells all as its generally very dark, atmospheric and all over the place.

One of my favorite producers is the Russian artist Furious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5rVC_lcgM8

Its dark, fast, and I would daresay "heavy."

Yeah, I guess it's pretty popular in Russia with Kindzadza and other artists.

I'm not really into it though, I prefer Goa or regular psytrance. I feel the added speed takes away from the psychedelic element.

And hardtek or hardcore (the electronic style, like hardtek but faster) are heavier.

I like some hardcore but I'm more into gabber and hardstyle, personally. Some hardcore is too cheesy, in my opinion. Have you listened to much drum and bass?

Wow, that is pretty fast and technical! Check out Baphomet Engine. Much more simple and droning, but still fun darkpsy.

I find hardtek usually more complex than gabber and hardstyle, those are more primitive, and often cheesier in my opinion with the choruses and synths, but probably where the other "hard"s evolved from.

Here's a hardtek track to my liking, probably not the best though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW3oSjOk8FU

Might as well post these, even if they're not the full speed hardcore I'm looking for (the last one tends toward hardcore) but also hardtek, they're kind of cool:

There was another Crystal Distortion track much faster, I can't find it right now and I'm not sure where to look because I don't know the title.

I also have this vinyl by someone else, I think eklekt or eclekt or eclektik (definitely French though) or something like that, I was looking through my records and couldn't find it. It's not that rare but I think it's not on youtube just the same, even if I don't know the exact title. The songs are all different though, one hardcore track, one d&b, one hip-hip if I remember.

edit, found a hardcore track that's ok, not exactly what I was looking for but not bad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4yzVQdUNC8&list=PL1D98D23F358D2F78&index=128&feature=plpp_video

Drum and bass, yeah, but not into the super heavy drum and bass. I prefer the more mellow kind with reggae samples. Digital, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oH2byxPMB28

Cydonia is a classic dark goa trance group. They made a killer album in 1999 called "In Fear Of A Red Planet"

Meh, I've tried to get into this stuff but it all just sounds like generic rave music to me. I'll stick to Biosphere and the like.

Seems like you want something more downtempo and atmospheric. Psychedelic chillout is probably what you want.

You've probably heard of Androcell, right?

^I like this. I was big into electronic stuff about a decade ago and loved how things were more streamlined and catchy. Now I listen to some new stuff and it is nothing more than 'glitch the fuck out of everything' and it is barely something I would call music.

Not really into psy or dark psy, but i got into electronic music lately, mostly hard drum n bass, crossbreed and my favorite, Speedcore\Terrorcore and i can say most of the scene, djs, producers, were ppl that came from metal bands or were metalheads, which is kinda interesting.

Speedcore producers sample riffs from metal tracks and and put them into very fast BPM drum sounds and stuff.
