since halloween is just around the corner and i'm sure i'm not the only one here who enjoys this but is anyone here a fan of creepypasta, you know, those scary stories circulating on the web about urban legends and other creepy stuff, has anyone ever read one of these stories and if so, what was the name of the story you read and what was your opinion on it

also what music do you recommend listening to when reading creepypasta (personally i recommend bands like immortal and electric wizard)

Axis of Perdition and Gnaw Their Tongues.
Trouser-shitting may ensue.

Mostly I read the really silly ones like the Morrowind and dogscape stories, but this one is quite a fun ride, although the stupid horror film cliches almst ruin it when they start to appear.

The Morrowind creepypasta is one of my personal favourites, even if I wasn't able to get into Morrowind. It's still in my backlog of games to be completed so I'm sure that shit will be completed some day.

I file most creepypasta in the same folder as Slenderman and nearly every horror movie ever made:

The "About as Scary as a Sock" folder.

I spent the entire month of April browsing creepypasta in study hall, and I ended up having insomnia for a few months. My favorite pastas were the unknown and ritual pastas. I remember my favorites being the string, the Russia sleep experiment, the girl in the picture, and he's been waiting for you

Dumb urban legend-style stories that have no chance whatsoever of being real. Essentially the internet's version of "Hey, you know about the lady killed on her wedding night up on Old Salty Hill?"

I love creepypasta, spent 2 months browsing and reading that I had to ween myself off just so I can sleep (To the person experiencing Insomnia, definitely know the feeling dude.)

My favorites are
Russian Sleep Experiement
Happy Appy (Pretty long so I suggest a whole friggin album on this one)
Candle Cove
Lil Wayne's Secret (Don't let the name full you. I ignored it myself until giving it a try. Kinda does a new take on the "illuminati" rumors)
String Theory
NormalPornForNormalPeople (Definitely reccomend this. I love this SHIT)
Bill Hicks Final Performance
Love (Not exactly horror but well written and is a favorite among the users on the site)
Family Matters lost episode
Crybaby Lane
Dirty Movie

I would also recommend SCP-wiki.net. It's a lot like creepy pasta where user submit pictures following it's story but this site acts more like "classified information" on just about any object or living thing you can imagine. It's a little hard to explain but you'll find a lot horror in this as well. I reccomend reading SCP-173 (which is not only scary but gives you an idea of what the site is about)

Russian Sleep Experiment is good, but the dialogue at the end ruined it for me.

This:
Spoiler: show
“We are you. We are the madness that lurks within you all, begging to be free at every moment in your deepest animal mind. We are what you hide from in your beds every night. We are what you sedate into silence and paralysis when you go to the nocturnal haven where we cannot tread.”

That's just cheesy...

I don't spend much time on creepypasta since I don't have the patience to sort through all the crap and find a decent story, but I'll definitley check out some of the listed ones here.

As for music to listen to, Funeral Mantra is nice and eerie.
