Sounds like a goregrind band. I can even imagine the album cover of their self-titled debut.

It's possible that not a whole lot of people will read this, but the "Roffle" part of my username was an amusing bastardization of name, Rafael. My friends started saying it so much that it has stuck for years. The "Thrashard" in my nickname comes from a D.R.I. song in which the lines "then you start thrashing like never before stagediving, headwalking like mad," really spoke to me. The only regret I have regarding it is that it's a pain to type into my phone when viewing posts on the go. Oh well. I like it.

Mine is my mates old band name. To be honest I've never heard that band, but she was also in Walrora. If you haven't heard the latter, and you like metal - you're either dead inside or not from Australia.

Walrora is the plural of walrus. And you're probably not from Australia or have any interest in women who play black metal and are obsessed with Manowar.

My username is the the very first nickname I made up when playing video games, some 20 years ago. It's a misspelled Latvian word meaning a corpse (pronounced as mee-ruhons).

I literally got my name from Deathrash Assault, before I had even listened to the damn thing. That is because the BastardHead review in question brought the song title to my attention.

I was looking for a name in Tanki Online about six years ago, and every nickname I thought of was in use. So I came up with this.

Glad to see that there's other people from the MA that play (or have played) Tanki Online!

Mine came about from skating with my brother and our neighborhood friends probably around 12-13. We were doing skate tricks and while trying to say "dude, butters!" to my buddy as he landed his trick nicely, it came out as "dooders!". They decided to just keep calling me that and it caught on with other friends. Later expanded on it and came up with Dooderotica (most of my gamer tags), Dooderonomy (5th book of Dooders), and all sorts of other silly made up words from it.

A character from the novel "Watership Down" ( aka The most metal book that features talking bunnies :P) He's a mythical Robin Hood-like hero that rabbits look up too as the ideal rabbit. He's butt also sparkles.

Combination of the song Doom Metal Alchemy by the doom metal band Minotauri, and the anime Fullmetal Alchemist.

I'm really glad this thread was bumped. Now hopefully iamntbatman will post. I've always wanted to know why his name is "I amn't Batman" instead of "I'm not Batman" or "I am not Batman."

Mine is a combination of Metrotitan a Decepiticon redeco of Metroplex, and Transformers: Victory. I'm a huge fan of the generation one and two toys and series.

It's a lyric from the Dream Theater song Strange Deja Vu. It basically refers to searching for yourself, and ultimately finding the way to unlock the knowledge of who you are.

crash and burn is a slang to mean an act of complete destruction
"I crash and burn" sounds something like "I am completely destroyed"

It's a combination of two Mogwai songs, sorry to ruin the mystique!

Assuming you mean this band, what songs? The closest I can find to Batman was Batcat.

That's assuming you're not just fucking with me, which I actually get the feeling you might be.

There was an old post where he explained it, and considering I've never really listened to Mogwai, I could be completely misremembering

Think I posted this a while ago but for all the new folks here, my name refers to a criminal organization in a Terry Pratchett (RIP :( ) novel.

"GTog" is just a shortened version of my name, because I'm not very creative. IRL though, people call me Goyo. My brother's father in law is Mexican, and apparently Goyo is a volcano in Mexico and it sounds vaguely like the spanish version (Gregorio) of my actual name, Greg. Nice to meet you.

So now I have Goyo stitched on the collapsible chair I haul around to lawn events and backyard parties.

Goyo is diminutive for Gregorio, Like Greg will be for Gregory or Joe for Joseph or Mike for Michael.

And yes, Goyo is a nickname for the volcano named Popocatépetl, because according to the legend, the spirit of the volcano appears to people as an elder man, whose name is Gregorio Chino Popocatépetl.

Mine is from The Persian Expedition because I liked the book and I thought the name was cool. It's also what I often name my character in RPGs.

My nick is my initials. They spell out the mascot of one of my favorite bands, so that was awesome. This was 1994 when I first got online and my first metal chatting environment was the megadiner on Telnet. Vic was perfect for the job and it got stuck to the point that my friends started calling me that. When I was in the UK studying people called me Vic (lots of English people had trouble pronouncing my real Greek name so I just told them to call me Vic). It's been stuck forever, my wife calls me Vic, people in the greek metal scene know me as Vic...so yeah, Vic.

When I register in online places "Vic" is often taken, so I include the "Dungeon" part from the name of my (now long gone) website and the name of my blog.

There's a scene in this little indie slasher/torture porn flick Kolobos where a victim gets dragged into a shower that spits out hydrochloric acid and then has their mushy head smashed into a pulp against the corner of a sink. I saw this in my freshman year of high school and thought "Acid Bukkake" would be a cool band name.

In my early internet days, I used to go by subwaytosally18642 on everything, inspired by a German band called Subway to Sally which was my favourite band at that time. The 1864 is the year of a war between Prussia and Denmark and the 2 refers to a local church which has two towers. This way, I could combine my German and my Danish side in me. The name is still in my YouTube channel and my email address but as my music taste shifted I grew tired of the name and later I registered as The Name Of The Wind on another forum which is the name my favourite book. It's a part of a trilogy and I figured I'd use the names of last two somewhere else else because I suck at finding names and I like the names of the books. So I used the working title of last and unpublished book here.

My nickname is simply the first part of my family name with a suffix added. A common way to make nicknames in Sweden. It also happens to be my nickname IRL during my childhood/youth. Due to my family name I have also been called Tengil, the name of the villain in a children's book by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren.

I changed my username in one punk forum to Captain Haddock(from tintin)and suddenly some of my friends just started to call me Haddock. I changed it because since I was a child I liked Tintin comics and captain Haddock and I resemble little bit Haddock.
