I was mocking myself while squirming through a crawl space under a stage, then in the succeeding downtime I conflated the Leviathan with thoughts of the sand worms and the fact that while it won't be the same worm, the grave worm will eat us all ("thus a king may pass through the guts of a beggar", etc), so .. that's the inglorious history.

Inspired by the song "Liberation" by Katatonia, and I thought it sounds nice and epic. I often add the "The" when Liberation is taken.

My parents are massive acid taking Tolkien fans and so I was lumped with the name Utumno. The one is actually my middle name signifying that I am the first born. Pretty dumb but it could have been worse.... I pity my little brother and sister Angband2 and Thangorodrim3.

I chose a random word and have used it as a nickname for several forums over the years.

Kinda self-explanatory here. Back when I lived in Southern Cali (and when I first registered here on MA), these feather haired little fucks seemed to be everywhere (if you passed someone on the sidewalk and they weren't black or Mexicanese, they were white and wearing the tight pants and tended to shirk away from whoever was walking toward hem).

Nowadays, if I could change my nickname, I'd hafta go with The_Hippie_Hunter or something along those lines.

I'd assume (being a rather stupid person who makes assumptions) that you don't like emotion, judged on your handle. However, "emo" was originally a militant middle class punk movement based around reclaiming the emotion you're told to feel from idiots who tell you what to feel. The "Emos" are metal-core goth hybrids with no idea of their lineage.

I won't bother to be an elitist douche and tell you about hippies. Which I am anyway.

The Infamous Bastard is a bastard.

Hence, the name. Soon to live his name in this forum too.

Markoff Chaney is an anti-social little person in The Illuminatus Trilogy of books. From Wikipedia: "He is an anti-social dwarf who engages in subtle practical joking in a deliberate attempt to cause social confusion. One such joke involves the forging and placing of signs that are signed by "The Mgt." (leading people to believe they are from "The Management" instead of "The Midget") that contain absurdities like "Slippery when wet. Maintain 50mph."

I came up with this name when I was brainstorming song titles like crazy. It somehow reminds me of Quiet Riot. Have I not come up with this name I use nearly as often as Dale calls himself Rusty, my username would've been something like "The Palerider," cause that's what everybody calls me back when I was still in school.

My name comes from my near-obsession with snakes, it simply means "snake venom" in Japanese.

I don't even like my username anymore. Originally it was just an undercooked, tryhard-edgy philosophical allusion. I guess it still works as a metal thing. Maybe the Inhumanist ist some kind of demon-like creature that disembowels people in their sleep. Yeah that sounds like some good lore. Just forget that I ever told you about the original meaning.

I was in 6th grade, I was for whatever reason, writing "diarrhea" and I did it in a hurry and the 2 'R's looked like a single 'M'. This was in like 1999. Been using it ever since.

My nickname was going to be "Exhumed" originally, as "exhumed" from the earth, which has a biblical meaning I'm quite fond of. Also, I like the band. Well, as the nickname was already taken, I chose this instead, not sure why, I don't like it.

I used to play competitive pool and 'Olio' was my favourite brand of table to play on. Nice predictable cushions, I liked that the pockets seemed to be a tad tighter than other brands of table and they had an aesthetic that I found real pleasing and unique.

Second half of my username comes from the fact that I'm a small dude.

A long-ass time ago, I was playing this game called Armored Core: Nexus were you played as this giant robot that you could customize. There was one NPC mech in it called Wily Tank that look pretty cool and when I started using the internet I chose to condense the two words to one as Wilytank.

I have not played the game or any Armored Core game for that matter for years.

I was like 8 and I was playing Diablo II: Lord of Destruction or whatever was the expansion called. I wanted to play a druid and my father told me druid can shapeshift into a werewolf. As an 8 year old, not being good with words or english words, I came up with DarkWolf. Then it said it was taken, so I added an X to the name so it looked cooler to me. Then, fast forward two or three years, father showed me RuneScape. Picked DarkWolfX, but it was already taken, so I wanted to add another X, but it was taken. Then tried to make it DarkWolfXXX, but dad told me that XXX is inappropriate :-D. Added a V so it would be like DarkWolfXV. Roman numbers ftw. I like my name, it still looks and sounds good to me after all these years.

I played the hell out of Nexus. It even had a bonus disc that had a couple of re-done levels from the first and second Armored Core games with a few bonus parts and emblems that were available to unlock. The save data from the main disc could be used in this disc.

I've played AC 3, Silent Line, and Last Raven otherwise. 3 was probably my favorite overall. I quit the games because I got tired of going through them the umpteenth time except Last Raven which was one of the hardest games I've ever played.

I swear I already posted in this thread but I couldn't find my post. My nickname is back from when I was playing Warhammer. I had a Nurgle army and my Chaos Lord's name was "Necroghast the Putrid." I literally got it off of a chaos name generator. I first used it on coolminiornot.com (miniature painting forum) but then I just used it for everything.

Last Raven made me ragequit the series entirely. I understand tweaking things to add challenge, but when even the lowest level enemy ACs are able to boost jump circles around you without breaking a sweat, it just becomes utter horseshit. When they have unlimited energy and can boost forever, use energy weapons while circle strafe hopping and using shoulder mounted weapons while zipping all through the air and just doing a bunch of shit that you're physically restricted from doing, it just sends me into such a rage that I nearly put a foot through the television. The AI in that game is a cheating bastard, and it's one of the only games I can think of where I can honestly say that I had zero fun playing it.

Rotwang is the name of the crazy scientist in the German film Metropolis; I thought it had nice metal/sci-fi overtones. It also happened to be one of the few names not already taken when I signed up for the site.
