I dunno man, I see dudes buttoning up to the top sans tie all the time now. I think it's more of a current fashion statement than anything. But then again, I think I see it in more casual use of a button up rather than straight up business attire, so what do I know. Ha.

Ha, thanks, Derigin! I try to keep them that way. I don't like my beard looking like it's unevenly crawling up my face or something :-P

@Tony: I shall take your comment as the highest of compliments. Praise Beanie, indeed!

Duuuuuude... fuckin' sweet beard! Mine is pretty lame, if I had shaved more in my teens (or shaved at all, for that matter), I'd probably have something decent going on but alas...

A faulty myth, man. Shaving doesn't increase the thickness of a beard or make it grow faster. Individual hairs can sometimes appear thicker and coarser when you shave - because the root is thicker than the tip - but it doesn't cause more follicles to show up or hair growth to speed up. It's just the luck of genetics.

It's a myth? Odd, since I started getting beard hairs since I was 11 and it's only now at age 24 since I started shaving (if only sparingly) that hairs are growing everywhere around my jawline, I would have thought they would have been there by then. Just goes to show how little I know about grooming. My mustache shows much greater promise, anyway.

Derigin is right, Noch. I have barely ever shaved, and my beard grows nice and thick on its own. Don't know where I got it from though, as pretty much all of my male relatives either grow very little facial hair or what they do grow ends up looking rather scraggly.

Thanks for the compliment, though :-D

My beard growth got a noticeable boost around that age too so. Not that unusual. Beard growth usually develops till your 30th at least.

I can do the beard, but for some reason my cheeks refuse to "fill in". I tried growing it out once and I looked Amish or some shit because it wouldn't grow up past my jawline.

No comment on the beard growth, since MA is well aware of how great I am at that feat. But that is a pretty sweet ass beard, Xlxlx.

Man, sometimes I really love this site.

But yeah, Xlxlx that's a bangin beard.

I'm 22, and currently pretty much everything but my (facial) cheeks has sufficient hair. It's getting there but so slowly. :panda:

I wish I could grow a beard! :( My facial hair is pathetic when it grows out, basically a teen scruff, but maybe worse. It comes out OK on one side, coverage wise, but the other is super patchy. It's generally pretty sparse all over and grows in super slow, like I didn't shave once for about a month due to mostly sheer laziness and it pretty much looked like a 5 oclock shadow. It's also really light brown. Super bummed, especially since my grandpa used to grow his beard out for Festival du Voyager (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festival_du_Voyageur) contests. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit that trait. :p

EDIT: I'm holding out hope that it gets better, as I'm only 25. So, to those saying it could develop until I'm 30, thanks for providing some hope.

Only 21 here but I can pretty much go without shaving for 10 days because the hair grows in so slow. Slow growing, thin, blonde hairs. It would be pretty cool to grow a actual beard someday but the growth hasn't really improved during last year so I'm not holding my breath.

there are 2 main reasons why i am happy with my beard growth
1. my skin does not like being shaven
2. i can stroke my beard

Basically as soon as i started getting decent growth i stopped shaving.

Nice Derketa pics, Erosion! They were cool last year at Wings of Metal even though they had sound issues and Mary had a sore throat. They seemed like very gentle ladies too!

At Messe des Morts' yesterday, there's another pic with Dystopia4 but he's probably hangover to upload it! From left to right, RapeTheDead, Atrrocious Mutilation, myself and IX Leviathan. There's 2 countries (Canada and Australia) and 3 different provinces (Ontario, Nova Scotia and Québec) represented here! All for the glory of Satan, of course.

Thanks Tony! Yeah they were super chill especially Mary, great ladies all around, though the bassist just disappeared so I didn't get to talk to her at all.

Nice pic of you and the Canadian MA meet up. I'd love to get up there or to MDF at some point in time but I doub that'll happen anytime soon :(.
