Cats are cool. Mine are quite odd however. One likes to eat everything and the other likes to drink about everything. Let it be orange juice or even my contacts liquid.

Then please visit a refuge centre and adopt another. You have plenty of experience, and can give one a home.
They look so lonely and lost waiting in cages for someone to choose them, some have to wait years.

Figured. Went to the party, which actually was really nice. Happy new year everyone. :)

He's a genius. That sketch was brilliant. If it was someone else doing it, I'd be all :guns: on him!

Anywho, here's a kittycat video which made me chuckle earlier today:

Nice rule change, M-A. I figured this would happen eventually. I bet the all the hardcore users are gonna down a few coffees and go on a band-submitting streak now. Prepare for the madness, mods. :P

I did. I was talking about the bands that have their stuff on Bandcamp and the likes.

If the definition of bedroom black metal is restricted to MySpace bands then my bad.

Oh, I think that's a really great rule change guys. I was always concerned about the growing digital distribution of albums and the site's old rules. I think it's a great way to stay current!

Aye. There's also some minor tweaks to reflect practice/policy made to the "heavy metal only" section of the rules, namely a bit more clarification on the definition of metal this site uses (as in the "Detailed Version" section), and the list of genres we don't accept (with examples).

Do you play Magic: The Gathering at all, Antoine? I heard it was heavily influenced by D&D. How good is D&D anyways?

Sitting here watching Tosh.O and wondering why anyone finds him funny. His average joe style of weak commentary-comedy is almost revolting.

D&D's goodness relies heavily on having a good DM. If you got a bad one, it turns into exactly what most people picture when they hear the name D&D: a bunch of fat nerds talking about +1 swords and going on quests to slay 1d4 Squibliagjksjdlfjs. Don't forget the obligatory gross sex scenes narrated by the neckbeard guy from the comic store.

If you got a good DM, it can be far better. But maybe that's just me: I prefer intriguing characters and gripping stories, where obstacles are about thinking rather than number-crunching equipment stats.

D&D is better than Magic.

Then again, for me, anything is better than Magic... I have a grudge against that game; most of my former group of friends became rather obsessed with it, and it kinda ruined my social life for a while.

On the subject of a good DM, learn from the horrors of my past: don't go for a rather odd dude who really gets into things and does the voices of about two dozen extra characters he decides to incorporate. One drunken night, one of those characters will be a teenage female... and one of his other characters will take an interest in her... and, before fleeing, you'll get to witness part of a one-man performance that you'll never be able to forget, no matter how hard you try.

I welcome the change and I think it'll benefit lots of bands who'd rather spend money on quality recording/artwork/etc than on physical distribution. On the flipside, the moderation has to be bumped up quite a bit to prevent shady releases from featuring on MA.

Honestly, if you just avoid the dudes who hang out at comic stores, you'll probably have a fun time with it.

This makes me sad. Having been a regular GM for well over a quarter of a century, I can honestly say that my autoerotic ideas have never found an outlet in my gaming.

...assuming that PnP means "pen and paper" in this context.

Calusari, are you telling us that..... You aren't telling us that, are you?

Wait are we still talking uncomfortably detailed narration here or has this crossed the boundaries of, you know, real life enactment... o_O And if so please tell me it didn't cross the other remaining boundary.

 I'm sorry to darken the image of D&D...

I am even sorrier to say, though, that it did cross that first boundary, inhumanist; once I could move, I got out of there before it, ahem, breached the other one. I'm not much of an athlete, but I ran impressively fast that day. Granted, I spent the rest of the night rocking in a foetal position, trying to think of ways to cleanse my retinas.

All right, I can tell this all must have been very traumatic for you at the time, but I'm laughing my arse off over here imagining just how this happened, so thanks! :D

D&D is pretty amazing with the right people and atmosphere. Of course those things might be hard to find, but you can hardly blame the game design for that...

And happy new year to all of you folks!

I'm sorry for you Calusari. I didn't play much D&D yet in my life but so far any erotic interludes were always purely comedical in nature.

Hehe, don't worry; it is pretty funny in hindsight, I suppose.

The funniest thing is that the guy still doesn't know why we stopped playing and ran out... I did bump into him a few weeks afterwards and he was utterly clueless, even trying to suggest we carry on. At least he had a very, erm, good time.

Just think: If this had happened within the last few years the chances of someone having captured the Glorious Event on video would have been very high, and that guy would be a Huge and Ugly Internet Meme by now.
