I didn't even notice what the fucking lyrics were like until about three tracks in. Pretty extreme subject material.

That's a big part of the appeal for me. Good ol' Pete's pitch black sense of humour. That and the yelling.

Health and safety madness, political correctness, turning into a compensation culture, no common sense anymore from those in charge.
Will youngsters growing up exhibit traits like the Eloi I wonder.

Noobs noobing noobs...

Incidently, mindshadow, I agree completely. Being healthy and avoiding unnecessary injuries is retarded. I also can't believe that people expect to be compensated for the harm done to them by others and for the work they perform! The ungrateful slobs! I also find the consistent policies of those in charge geared towards servicing the interests of their class to be completely without rational basis on their part.

There should be a balance in everything, if someone gets injured at work (or anywhere else) they should be compensated and lessons should be learned, but when a country becomes "whiplash capital" of europe?
And when "rescuers" inch out using a pole for guidance while one holds on behind ..in a three and a half foot boating lake in a suburban area while a man drowns?

Well, checked my email, and I find that I got sent an email from a certain Senator Jon Tester of Montana, probably because I signed an online petition to stop SOPA. I quote:

Quote:
Dear Luke,

I am writing to update you about the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property (PROTECT-IP) Act. Leaders in the House of Representatives and the Senate have removed these bills from consideration at this time.
I did not sign on in support of the PROTECT-IP Act and I believe it's in the best interest of folks on all sides of the issue to have this delay. I received significant input from Montanans like you and look forward to continuing the conversation about how to best balance protection of intellectual property with the bedrock principle of a free and open internet.
Please don't hesitate to contact me again if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Jon Tester

a) I'm not from Montana.
b) I don't even live in the US.
c) I didn't vote (not eligible).
d) What the hell?
e) I do plan to contact him again, and ask for some further assistance. This is what I plan to write:

"Dear Senator Dickhead,

Thanks to you, I'm now planning to vote Republican. Go back to farming, hillbilly, and fire whoever sends your automatically-generated e-mail responses to stupid online petitions.

Sincerely,
A.N. Angry Former Democrat Supporter

P.S. You're too soft on national security."

The petition you signed was probably sent to each United States senator, and this particular one probably has an automated response.

If you ask me, the only dubious albums when it comes to Death are the last two. Otherwise, up to and including ITP, it's all death metal.

I'm sure we've had a general 'is late Death death metal or not?' discussion a few times, and it's popped up elsewhere too.

Into Eternity's Fukushima is probably the best thing they've ever done. Stu Block has improved by leaps in bounds since his time in Iced Earth.

Hmmm, I'm listening to the song Necrotism, and it certainly reminds me of Buried In Oblivion. Still think the guitars are weak as hell, and the vocals aren't exactly fantastic. Get rid of that electronic crap.

They certainly have a sound of their own. I've had the song stuck in my head for a while now, which just dosen't happen often anymore. I'm mostly glad that Blocks vocals are like 50% less high pitched and whiny than on their last two.

I am so very doubtful of this. Into Eternity, IMO, peaked at Buried in Oblivion, and has gone way downhill since Block joined.

About to give it a listen, hopefully you prove me wrong.

Also, Florence + The Machines album Ceremonials is excellent.

EDIT: I have come to the conclusion that I just don't like Stu block. Song is OK.

Buried In Oblivion is pretty good but I never understood why it's constantly fellated. Edit: I think we can all agree that this song was better than anything off the musical abortion called The Incurable Tragedy.
