Why are you sad?

So was HellBlazer, regarding M-A, for that matter. Not sure if it was a podcast or just a standard internet radio. Don't ask me for a link, though, cause I don't have it.

Wasn't a very good experience. I was friends with the dudes operating the podcast (it's been dead for some time now) and they were really on another planet. They wanted to talk about metal but it felt everything I said was going in one ear and out the other. It was cool, and I'd do it again if the person(s) understood the basics of metal.

No Tony, it had nothing to do with my pop album. :P

Oh, I forgot about his role in Jesus Christ Superstar. Is this guy a great interpreter or what?

He's pretty aiight....his version of "Heaven and Hell" though....does not compete. Then again...competing against Dio? Foolhardy at best.

Xlxlx, stop flooding this place with your crap already as you said you were going to, or you're going to take an enforced leave of absence. I mean it. Don't even respond to this post, I'll take your silence as a sign that you've understood and will comply. Failure to do so would be a bad idea.

Someone mentioned the strangely positive reviews for the new Lacuna Coil and I stumbled across this:

Maniac Blasphemer- Lacuna Coil Dark Adrenaline You Can Feel The Adrenaline 90%

I find it amusing that someone calling themselves "Maniac Blasphemer" is a super huge Lacuna Coil fan.

Demolition Hammer's Epidemic of Violence should have a sticker on its LP/CD with the text ''heaviest albums ever'' on it. For real, this album crushes everything in its path: the vocals sound pissed off, the guitars grind and last the drums sound destructive. My only complaint about the album is the little lack if variety, but that's ok. Rather that than an album with some failed experimenting on it. THRAAASH! :headbang:

Wizard is a different kind of heavy. More of a suffocating, take the breath from your lungs type while DH is a pound your skull in with a jackhammer heavy.

He's right though. As I've alluded to in the past, that album also has some of the hands down greatest song titles ever. "Skull Fracturing Nightmare", "Pyroclastic Annihilation", "Human Dissection", "Orgy of Destruction", "Carnivorous Obsession", and more. Add in their first album too and suddenly they rival Deathchain.

Carnivorous Obsession is definitely one of my favorite thrash songs of all time. The only thrash break that might be able to fuck with Violent Restitution in my mind.

The break in Violent Restitution is amazing! Add in the poetic lyrics and you've got a real winner. I'm not sure what my favorite thrash break is but the one in skull Fracturing Nightmare is up there, as are several others from the same album. Actually I think Sodom's Exhibition Bout is the winner now i think about it.

Umm, you know that the threads in that subforum are the exact same threads that were in S&C twenty minutes ago, right? They didn't make any new threads, they just sort of tidied things up.

So what, Morri wanted the S&C to be cleaner and clearer, it was a good idea.

I wasn't actually complaining, mind you. :D I was just pointing that out to oogboog because he acted like we just suddenly decided to start tidying up the website, when in reality nothing new thread-wise has been added at all.

so after a few months of going "nah it's far too gay, I'll never use it" I finally incorporated the jumprope (whatever it's called, skipping rope, I dunno) into my workout. How the hell do 5th grade schoolgirls do that shit? 300 jumps and I'm absolutely stuffed :( Also, for the first time in at least ten years I'm under 110 kgs! woot

@Razakel: Good man! Out of the Abyss was my first, and I've always considered Mystification its "sister" album as they both have the thrash influence rathceted WAY up. There are so many awesome songs on that one: Spirits of the Dead, Masque of the Red Death, the opener...damn I may have to throw it on later.

I'd suggest The Deluge next but you really can't go wrong. When you're ready to nerd out on MR please drop it in the Speed/Heavy/Power thread!

What the hell is with the reviews for Lacuna Coil's newest? Are they all being paid or is it actually decent?

It's by no means a good album, there are a couple of good songs (by pop metal standards). Best to concern yourself with something worthwhile and forget it exists. I don't know if they are getting paid but most reviewers are way off the mark so their opinions mean dick.

I agree 100% with all the comments about Epidemic of Violence. One of my favorite albums ever, if not my absolute favorite album ever. After years of searching I actually did find a video of them touring in support of it, and the songs live (Skull Fracturing Nightmare, Human Dissection, Carnivorous Obsession, Epidemic of Violence, fucking ABORTICIDE) were just as intense as I imagined them to be.

But yes, Epidemic of Violence is one of the best thrash albums ever. Very chaotic, heavy, fast, and fucking awesome.

Maybe it's just me, but if you feel compelled to put review in quotes maybe you shouldn't submit it?

If you do though I can't really see people white knighting for Lacuna Coil.
