I've seen hair care tip threads on this forum so I know that there's some of you out there who care about grooming and stuff.
I went out to see Marduk recently. During the support acts (Belphegor and some local bands) there was quite a bit of faux moshing. I'm not a fan of moshing at all but I probably dislike half hearted, pussy laughter moshing even more. Anyway, so many smelly people were flaying about. You know the smell, clothes that haven't dried properly on cold radiators. Even without the moshing, I've been hit on the face by somebody's headbanging hair at a number of gigs. Invariably their locks smell like a brown bag from McDonalds.
I want to know if there's anyone here who knowingly stinks and doesn't wash their clothes or hair. Do you think that's OK?
I've seen discussions on the etiquette of moshing, people exhorted to stand at the back if you don't like it etc. What about a wash before you mosh element to the etiquette? Even if you try your best to avoid stuff like that at gigs, you're still going to have to contend with these smelly bastards.
Is there a link between bad personal hygiene and some misguided, non-conformist 'metal' sensibility?
