I agree with this 100%, F#A# infinity is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time.

Another one that's already been mentioned as well:
Animicantus wrote:
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Quite possibly my favorite album of all time.

And:
Fall of Efrafa - Elil
This album blows me away with every listen.

Hhmmm... I'm pretty restrictive when it comes to giving albums "100%", but three that falls into that category would have to be:
- Fields of the Nephilim: "The Nephilim"
- Skinny Puppy: "ViVisect VI"
- Jethro Tull: "Aqualung"

"Have a Cigar" might not be as strong as the rest of the album, but it's still really good, in my opinion.

"Have a Cigar" and "Welcome to the Machine" are incredible songs to me, but yeah, generally I dont' think this is among the stronger Floyd albums either. interesting that you don't like "Have a Cigar" though...

"A Saucerful of Secrets" is at the top. That album is a strange, magical trip indeed. THe title track is such a wild ride and who could forget the urgent allure of "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun"..."Let there be More Light" is a stunning way to open an album, too.

I'm definitely in agreement there; a friend got me to listen through the whole thing for the first time, and I loved it. I'd heard a good number of the songs before, but as an album, it flows so, so well.

So... I got into Little Tybee and man, their album "Building a Bomb" is simply amazing.!! Love the relaxing feeling to their music, while at the same time they have a proggy/experimental side, definitely not a 100% but pretty close by my standarts.!

Any other Little Tybee fans?

Mike Oldfield -- "Ommadawn"

A perfect, epic Tolkienesque journey in only 37 minutes, taking in moody Celtic landscapes, jaunty rustic folk-dance, and dark brooding intensity. The tribal section at the end of part 1 is the music I want to die to.

For Pink Floyd, I truly love Piper at the Gates of Dawn. It's such a trippy album, especially songs like Flaming. Never listened to Saucerful though, might do that sometime. For now, adding another album to the list:

Poison the Well - Opposite of December

Best fucking metalcore album ever. Slice Paper Wrists is my fucking jam.

it's not something i gave much thought to, but it was the first thing that popped into my head. :p

enjoy plenty of dark ambient projects, thats considered non-metal i guess?

seven sorrows by desiderii marginis
tunes for the wounded by foundation hope
nostromo by sleep research facility
the cancelled earth by cities last broadcast
derelict world by false mirror
traces of nothingness by svartsinn

are some of my favourites from that genre.

eluvium and kauan are intersting also.

I like "Welcome to the Machine", though it could be shorter. "Have A Cigar" doesn't do a whole lot for me, and while the title track was pretty great the first time I heard it, it hasn't held up well. I think "Wish You Were Here" might be the best Pink Floyd album, but I don't think it deserves a 100%. "Shine On..." is the best Pink Floyd song, and a whole album of equally good material would without question get a 100%. Not one song or even one part on the album is really bad, anyway, it merely has a lot of material I don't really care for. As for "A Saucerful...", I haven't really had the patience to let it grow on me. When Richard Wright passed away, I listened to "Remember a Day" and loved it. Other than that, it hasn't clicked with me.

:Of the Wand and the Moon: - Nighttime Nightrhymes
Kim Larsen's first masterpiece of melancholic Neofolk. It's just the right album for the approaching winter, full of murmurs and whispers, mystical and sorrowful. "Raven Chant", "In the Colours of Night" and "Wintry Mantle" are simply not of this world!

EA 80 - Alle Ziele
German (post-)punk. I'm not a huge fan of the genre in general but EA 80 do it right. Bleak but quite impulsive music and some interesting lyrics (at least if you can speak German)

Skrewdriver - All skrewed up
Best Oi!-album ever made! Just rocks, period!

GG Allin - Freaks, Faggots, Drunks and Junkies; Murder Junkies (GG Allin+Antiseen)
Simply my favourite albums by the final messiah of punkrock. Rancid music, rancid lyrics. There's no boozing without this GG-stuff!

Edit:
Aghast - Hexerei im Zwielicht der Finsternis
Dark Ambient from Norway by Tania Stene and Andrea Haugen. Nightmarish, ghoulish, brilliant atmosphere.

After some exploration, I have some new additions to my own list, including two hip-hop/rap albums, The Infamous by Mobb Deep and It Was Written by Nas, which I much prefer to his first album, Illmatic, which seems to be most people's favorite. The former is much darker than I'd expected and the latter is really catchy and slick. Never gave hip-hop or rap the time of day before but those two albums have altered my opinion of both genres.

Post-punk is a gold mine for great albums. I'd include What Does Anything Mean? Basically by The Chameleon's, Diminuendo by Lowlife and From the Lions Mouth by The Sound.

I also have a soft spot for catchy jangle pop, like XYZ... by Moose, Cerulean by The Ocean Blue and Played by The Bodines.

I didn't like it at first but I've slowly come to adore Low's I Could Live in Hope. Alongside Red House Painters' Rollercoaster and Down Colorful Hill, that's a slowcore favorite of mine.

I thought it was good, but very derivative of the back catalog of Warp Records.

Speaking of which, Broadcast's The Noise Made By People will always be one of my all time favorite albums.

Yes! They're fantastic.
Otherwise, a ton of punk (not the gay Sum 41 or any other bands like that) shit. Too many great albums to name. Crust (the genre) also rules.

I'm a huge Fall fan. This Nation's Saving Grace easily gets a 100% for being one of my personal favorite albums. Bend Sinister and Hex Enduction Hour are also favorites of mine, but fall short of TNSG mainly due to the superior consistency of that album.

Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica deserves another mention. I get excited every time I decide to play this record and I'm amazed every time I hear it.

Fans of Joy Division should check out New Order's Power, Corruption & Lies if they haven't already. A lot more electronic/dance pop and not as melancholic as they were with Ian Curtis, but it's a really fun listen.

Tangerine Dream are more known for albums like Phaedra and Rubycon but my favorite is Stratosfear. I found it to be the most accessible TD album and also the most memorable. Their earlier albums are great for chilling out but on Stratosfear I sense an uneasiness and paranoia that grips my attention. I wouldn't change anything on it. Has the best TD album cover, too.

There are a few non-metal albums that I would most definitely rank near 100%, but Dax Riggs' We Sing Of Only Blood Or Love, The Darkness' Permission To Land, and Birds Of Tokyo's Universes would absolutely get 100% in my books. Not a single song on any of those albums would I skip over. I'd also have to throw in Frenzal Rhomb's Sans Souci and A Man's Not A Camel, because those albums are just fucking awesome. I could name one or two others that would earn 100% in my books, but these are the ones that spring to mind near instantly.

Another one I would rate a 100% is the Emerson, Lake & Palmer s/t debut. Trilogy was a damn good album too as was Brain Salad Surgery(although less so due to the excessive pomp of the Karn Evil 9 suite) but the band's first effort is just an amazing top to bottom display of that classical music driven prog rock the band was known for before they succumbed to egotistical wankery after BSS. Usually when it comes to classic rock, Neil Peart is almost universally acclaimed as most gifted but I prefer Carl Palmer's energetic precision to Peart's cold technical skill and speed as demonstrated on the song The Barbarian and Tank. Tarkus is my favorite song by them though;epic, epic and epic!!

For those who like Sleep Research Facility / Nostromo & Tholen.

Beyond The Threshold by M.Todd/L.Kerr.

I imagine Jack Torrance meeting Delbert Grady listening to this.

I really like Pendulum's "Hold Your Colour" and "In Silico", even though I'm not a huge DnB fan. I also like Muse, and I really don't like saying this but Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" is a guilty pleasure of mine.
