Hey guys,

Might sound like a stupid question but english being not my mother tongue I am having troubles finding out any information about this on the Internet.

For some future album of mine, I am thinking of having the CD in a kind of "deluxe" packaging = a black square cardboard box, maybe with the logo printed on it or something.

Something like what this band did for instance (I blame myself for not being fast enough and purchasing it by the way, but that's another story) :

What would be the name in english of this kind of box ? In other words : how could I find someone who could print this kind of nothing ?

Bonus question : on the second picture we can also see a kind of "box" in which the digipack/jewelcase is inserted. Like a sleeve. But "CD Cardboard sleeve" is not giving me good results on google either - is there a name for this :) ?

Thanks a lot by advance,

V.

what martinsane said, and also I hope you understand it's gonna cost you. it might be cheaper to get the boxes done elsewhere (than at the cd pressing plant) and then do a little assembling yerself, but it still won't be cheap.

if you do do it, please post the results here :)

edit: here's a coupla companies who do that kinda thing:

I'm not recommending/promoting them, just as a starting point... you can google "cd special packaging" for more.

Box set, delux edition, premium edition, special edition... or you can combine them: "Delux premium edition box set". A lot of video games do this so you can probably look there for inspiration.

yeah I tried most of those but usually I find the final products from bands rather than the manufacturer.

Thanks for the suggestions ! Okay I will post the results (still a lot of time, just planning for a distant future release).

Yeah, I believe it will be expensive :/ But before trying to go DIY I wanted to know the 'market price' hehe :)

Thank you guys

Holy hell that's a bitching example of those "delux" cardboard CD boxes.
