So i'm looking for pretty much any feature length type movies that have soundtracks appealing to the metalhead. So far the only movie I can think of that has real metal in it (not hollywood metal) is Gummo, which I thought was a pretty killer movie, and turned me on to Mystifier which is now one of my all time favorite bands. Any others out there?

Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114608

Trick or Treat - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092112

Demons - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089013

Deathgasm (not released yet) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3705412

Demon Knight and Demons only have partially metal soundtracks, but then again even Gummo had some random stuff on it. Deathgasm at this point is looking like easily the most metal movie ever made.

The first Mortal Kombat movie had a pretty good mid-90's metal soundtrack. Fear Factory, Type O Negative, Napalm Death among others.

(Wes Craven's) Shocker. watchable movie, good soundtrack with a coupla turkeys.

Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows. painfully bad movie, soundtrack not entirely metal but "appealing to the metalhead".

Spawn. bad movie, interesting but not great soundtrack, again "appealing to the metalhead".

Prince of darkness. good-ish movie, Alice Cooper on the ost, and in the movie (for 2 mins).

there's more, but I just got back from a day out after no sleep... will come back.

Hellion has some Metallica and shit, nothing too underground obviously, but it's an amazing movie and deserves to be seen.

ah yes. thanks. Hesher has a lot of metallica songs, too, and some kind of a metallica "theme"... not a bad movie.

there's also one song in Zombieland, that documentary about the Memphis Three, and they also appeared, playing live, in a silly movie a while back that I can't remember the title of (and no, I'm not being clever about either Some kind... or ...Never).

Eat the Rich has lots of Motörhead, on the ost and in the movie. funny at parts, if you like british humour.

edit: I'm on a roll... Bad Teacher has some very unlikely but ingeniously placed Judas Priest in it... very funny, though if you're very PC you might think it's sexist. just so you know.

Chemical wedding was written by Bruce Dickinson, so you can guess who's on the ost. he also appears in the movie himself, as the boring landlord. not terribly bad movie, but not for everyone. defo don't watch it while eating. or on a date.

The first Mortal Kombat movie. OST has at least Fear Factory, Napalm Death, Geezer and a Type O Negative remix, though IIRC the last two were OST only and not actually in the movie (the OST was weird like that and had "bonus stuff").

No amount of metal on the soundtrack can compensate for Mortal Kombat being a terrible movie with piss-poor fight choreography. They should have made in R-rated and hired someone like Cory Yuen to do that stuff, as it stands it's pretty much the martial arts version of Highlander.

I have heard nothing but bad about those movies, although I would love an animated one based on the later games if nothing else.

As far as movies with metal, "Last Action Hero" has Queensryche, Anthrax, Alice In Chains, and Def Leppard, though I don't know if that is in the movie itself or just the OST.

Last Action Hero had some of the songs from the CD in the film, I remember "Angry Again" featuring quite early on. It's another example of bad movie, good soundtrack though.
All the ingredients were there but the studio stuck their dicks in as usual and fucked everything up. Originally it was supposed to be an R-rated black comedy called "Extremely Violent", but the script got thrown through the PG-13 ringer and the producers didn't even let John McTiernan edit it so it just wound up being a complete mess.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Megadeth had a song as well. Considering I own a copy of the OST, it's kind of embarrassing that I'd forget that.

Gummo's soundtrack is quite metal. That soundtrack was how I discovered Bethlehem.

The "Alone in the Dark" movie had a metal soundtrack which was released by Nuclear Blast, featuring the likes of Dimmu Borgir, SYL, Dark Tranquillity, Nightwish, Arch Enemy, Suffocation, Kataklysm, and Dying Fetus, among others. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alone_in_the_Dark_%282005_film%29#Soundtrack

I got quite excited for this, then I noticed it's an Uwe Boll flick. if you don't know who Uwe Boll is, you can google him. it's faster and far less painful than actually watching one of his "movies". I'm still mourning the one hour I wasted on BloodRayne :(

2.3 on imdb, if the above is not enough for you. 2.point.3. that's Uwe's own vote and his mum's.
