I for one do. Im not sure why it bugs me so much. When people that dont listen to metal go on and on about how great their music is, I either disagree or blow it off, but when people get on about how great whitechapel or some other terrible or generic band is, I get genuinely irritated. I think it may have something to do with the fact that when that happens, all I can think is that there is so much more, better bands out there, why not go find those? Its like some people just stick to what they know and go around touting it as the best ever when there are so many better bands out there.

And yes, I am ranting.

to answer your question: people can listen to what they want, i don't insult people because they listen to Korn or Avenged Sevenfold, i try to propose them new bands (they sometimes don't investigate the genre enough)

Actually, yeah I do. I recently decided that I didn't have enough needless hostility in my life, so I started stressing out over the most trivial of things.

Like with many/most things in life, I'm all good with whatever someone listens to/eats/has as a hobby, but if they have a bad attitude then it gets irritating. Live and let live.

I mean, some people have really shitty musical tastes IMO, but whatever.

I don't necessarily enjoy hearing people's discussions about X-shitty deathcore band or whatever... but as long as they aren't idiots/assholes I don't have any reason to be angry at them for it.

Not really, I encourage it. Not sure what it is like in the areas you live in but the girls who listen to deathcore and what not around here are hot as hell.

I have no consern at all what anyone listens to or even calls metal. It doesn't bother me when some kid at the show refered to Green Day as speed metal. it's not like it changes a thing in the entire world knowing someone is a moron.

No, I don't care. I consider a lot of the music I like to be generic.

I get more irritated when people listen to bad commercial pop that has no metal elements whatsoever.
