So I went out on another stupidly long walk, took some pics while out.

First I went into this area of woods at the other end of a field behind a couple schools. Didn't spend too long in there but took some pics:

Then I ended up at a county park which for like 5 miles follows both sides of a river. Not the one I was at two days ago; there's two sides of my town with rivers on them.

Those are so familiar... where did you take them?

Anyways, I'm a very bad photographer (though I'd very much like to learn because I think it's awesome, but I digress) and I don't have a good camera, but I thought I'd throw in my own, so bear with me here:

This was taken from the balcony of my house about 6 hours before we got the worst of tropical storm Erika this past weekend. Not the coolest image you've seen but I'm fond of it, maybe context helps it out a bit.

I edited the OP to mention the proper tagging etiquette. Kind of crazy that you'd have to point it out, but eh...

Gorgeous shots as always, bloodycumshit. Man I wanna go to Newe Zedlande.

Right now we're in that late summer "everything is still green but kinda wilting and generally ugly" phase, but fall is just around the corner! This year has really flown by but I'm really excited to try to explore more pretty locations for some great photo ops once the foliage starts kicking in.

Yeah Autumns a great season for pretty coloured pics, it's a bit of a shame my area is pretty much natives which are all evergreens.

forestcorpse, definitely looking forward to more canoe photos. Man I would love to go on a really long canoe trip through the wilderness again; it's been far too long.

Right now I'm planning some trips that should have some really good photo ops. Gonna head to Jeju Island in a month or so to climb the tallest mountain (volcano) in South Korea, then I'm gonna take a weekend trip to Gyeongju which has tons of ancient architecture and temples built in caves, maybe in early November I'll head to Seoraksan which is another one of South Korea's three tallest peaks to see some autumn foliage, then in February I'm gonna try to head to Kyoto, Japan to see if I can get some good shots in the snow.

I always love Forestcorpse's photos of Norway- but the ones of Washington State are pretty awesome as well, and that's only about a day's drive from here!

Here in Idaho it isn't so lush, but we do have some pretty weird stuff here. Like this place, near Gooding. There isn't really much of interest in Gooding, Idaho. A foods processing plant, a rehab center, and a school for the deaf...and, this spot.
The Ruins of Zamettar:

The Grand Plaza of Ruskelfasarkin:

and, the Ruins of Dorrian Cathedral:

So, heading west, This is in a different area, this is a vista in the Owyhee Mountains, just across the Oregon border.

Hey, whoever said staring at rocks wasn't fun! Meet R'hyollite, Lord of Rhyolite:

Image

I kind of wonder sometimes if there is some little dude out here who paints weird designs on slabs of rhyolite.
Image

This piece has a twig stuck in it. Totally embedded in the dead center of the rock. How the #$% did that happen?

Mine aren't as impressive as forestcorpse's but I've started taking pictures on my walks around the neighborhood and the park down the road from me. Got some pretty nice pictures of the sky a couple of days ago when the sun was starting to go down. Pretty good for just being at a small walking park here in st louis. Hoping to go on a trip sometime soon, especially once winter fully hits and hopefully some good snow falls.
Warning: pretty large photos.

Edit: jesus christ I didn't realize how big those actually were, resized them now.

You should consider resizing those. Unless someone is reading the forum on one of those fancy 4k TV's I don't think those images will fit on anyone's monitor (I have to scroll quite a bit on my standard 1920 x 1080).

Right. I'm here to put an end to all this mountain, foresty stuff. Welcome to the middle of Australia, about two hours south of Alice Springs. Drive or fly about 500km in any direction to still find no coast line. Nothing to see here.

Desert sunsets are quite nice though.

Really nice shots Cosmic_Equilibrium, i especially like that waterfall one in Whales and the mountains in Scotland. I always thought the mountains in Scotland were small but the ones in those pics look pretty solid to me. Maybe you could use the spoiler though.

Forestcorpses pics of wanderings around forests and lakes inspired me to do a bit of the same

Spoiler tags are only necessary for really huge pics that might stretch most screens, or for when quoting someone else's pics (to avoid needless scrolling and repetition). Your post is perfectly fine, don't worry about it.

Or when there are multiple posts with lots of pics, it's not a necessity, but makes scrolling easier for other people, especially on phones.
