Here is a band that I find is rarely spoken about for some strange reason, it's beyond me why they aren't either.

If you don't know of them, they are the band formed by Mike Muir after the break of Suicidal Tendencies, a band that used to be just as great.

Robert Trujillo is also of Suicidal Tendencies fame but for you newer metal fans would recognize that he now also plays bass in Metallica. I personally think he and Mike are the band, his bass work is nothing short of amazing in this band, even better and more funkier than Suicidal Tendencies which makes this a great groove funk crossover metal band.

They haven't done a lot either which is a real shame but the first two albums The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move... It's the Infectious Grooves and Sarsippius' Ark are the real standpoints of this band. For any Bowie fans, Sarsippius' Ark also features a cover of David Bowie's Fame which in my opinion is even better than the original!

This song Punk It Up is probably my favourite song of theirs overall, it just reeks of awesome!

Okay, I've finished jizzing so now I ask, what do you guys think of this band?

Oh, those were the days. On topic, the Infectious Grooves were a neat band, and from time to time, I find myself actually grooving to their funky ass rhythm. Is it Metal? Yeah, the distortion is heavy enough, but the arrangement of riffs, save a few thrash riffs here and there, misses the mark entirely; in fact, the title song from their debut is almost entirely funk. Regardless, Trujillo's bass, as OP has pointed out, makes this band worth a listen

I've yet to get my hands on Sarpissius' Ark, but the few songs I've heard on YouTube have peaked my curiosity.

Never heard much of their material(although im a fan of Suicidal Tendencies) the only thing i heard from them is Violent & Funky(Hilarious song)

They were a decent band but I never really got into them. At about that time a lot of thrash metal bands were "going funk" or at least injecting slap bass licks into their sound,( e.g. Death Angel, Mordred) and it was one of those short lived trends that died down fairly quickly.

To summarize, I had respect for Infectious Grooves; I thought they were a cool band and such, but they werent the sort of music I went out of my way to listen to.

Dammit. I was about to come here and post some good slamming grooves.

But, this thread has sparked my curiosity for this band.
