Would my local salon be able to cater to my needs? I tried looking up some advice just by googling, but didn't seem to come across anything that told me exactly what I wanted to know, so hopefully someone on the board can give me the 411 when it comes to mohawks in general, and this specific style.

The amount of jell you need is outrageous. It'll take a lot of work. I used to go to school with some people with mohawks. Essentially, one like that will take a bit of refining - but just shave the sides of your head (Maybe not so thin at first so you can get a better idea of the whole thing) - and then just jell it up into that shape. Once all that is done, hairspray the mofo.

The people I knew with mohawks would, quite often, not bother about putting it up.

I think mohawks, when done in a cool way, look absolutely beastly and I LOVE them on woman.
