Never too late for this awesome game. Cellar Archives is really one of the areas i remember well from Amnesia.

Apparently Amnesia 2 release date is pushed into early 2013. Damn, wouldn't like to wait for that long! Those pig squels are haunting me.

Definitely a boss spoiler. But it's saying that this boss is apparently harder than the last boss in the original version. So that's good to see :)

Ugh, I don't know if I want to watch this or not so I don't spoil anything for myself...

Anyone seen this? http://www.ouya.tv/

I just placed my order, it's relatively cheap for a console with this kind of specs. Also the attitude behind this project is something that needs to be encouraged.

Good job on waiting for the day right after the Kickstarter ended in order to pay extra. ;)

Yeah, seems to be just $10 more than from the Kickstarter anyway. Not a big deal. I wonder how they can make it so cheap actually.

maybe the use of an Nvidia Tegra processor helped in that, the quad-core Tegra 3 only costs between $15 - $25.

It contains a story important boss fight. And he does die to that boss fairly quickly so maybe you don't see every single moveset. It's like seeing someone fight the last boss for about 30 seconds and talk about it. But oh man I am so prepared to die after seeing this preview.

Also the youtube has a bit of a spoiler as to what location the DLC entails. For anyone who did see the vid here's some speculation from me.......

Spoiler: show
The DLC is Darkroot Garden of the past and you kill Artorias. So when you return to get the sword, Sif recognizes you as his killer and intends to kill you.

Also some people never learn. I have an insurmountable amount of games to recommend to this girl over Farmville.

So, I got both of the Dead Space games on Wednesday. Haven't touched the 2nd one yet, but I've nearly finished the first; I don't think I've ever been so scared playing a game before. But by Hansi Kurch, is it amazing! Greatest game I've played in ages.

Totally agree. Felt the exact same way when I got the first one. The 2nd one, though very good... just doesn't have the same feeling to me as the first. I don't feel that total isolation and trapped feeling as the first. But I enjoyed it enough I'm working on a 3rd run through, same with the first. The third I'm interested in playing but I don't think it's going to be as near as scary as even the third. I guess I'm not thrilled with the whole ice planet... the video of it I saw really just seemed more like a typical space shooter. I'll play it though.

I think the first one is the best out of both of them, though I just wish that the kinesis unit was the same as in the 2nd game. I have enjoyed the 2nd game so far (got to around Chapter 3 this morning), but it seems like more of a journey into Isaac's psyche rather than the total isolation you mentioned. But I disagree about the third game; the idea of it being set on a planet (an ice planet at that) rather than a spaceship or colony station seems very intriguing to me.

This is the first I've ever heard of Lost Planet, but I'll check some vids out of it later.

Just purchased Sleeping Dogs from Steam. Decided to actually pay for this game once I found out there was a whole host of PC-exclusive options, and careful effort was put into getting it optimized on PC. Definitely looking forward to it! Any one else buying this?

Had it on preorder for awhile already. Finally unlocks this Friday. Yay!

By the way, if you're into prepurchasing stuff, GreenManGaming.com is usually a better idea than prepurchasing directly from Steam, since the folks at GMG like to toss in 20-25 percent off vouchers on future titles once in a while (I got the game for around $36 back in the day), along with other neat stuff.

Along with Left 4 Dead 3-5 and Portal 3-7.

A new Dark Souls trailer :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiBjgvFYmb0

This should be less spoilerific than the other Dark Souls youtube I posted but it still shows glimpses of some important NPCs.

I mean it's looking good. Like the DLC will be substantially a big chunk of extra game and integrated with the main game. This is how DLC ought to be. The fans want more and they give us a lot more. :)

So far Bethesda has been my favorite company with DLC. Always a ton more extra content but with some extra flair so it's not just more of the same game. Rockstar's also been generous with DLC. I hope to see From Software dethrone Bethesda with their Dark Souls DLC. And it's looking like they can.

Side-scrolling adventure fans, take heed: the newly-released XBLA game Dust: An Elysian Tail is awesome, and absolutely gorgeous-looking.

Also Konami, take heed: that's what a modern 2D game should look like. Why are you still using 15 year old sprites from Symphony of the Night?

I haven't played it, but apparently not. It's too bad, because the story is supposedly quite good. Maybe I'll give it a shot when it's at 5 bucks on Steam. GRRM should really consult people who know gaming before licensing his stuff to shit developers.

From what I've read about it, it appears to be legitimately good. I was thinking about getting it, but I'm so on edge after having been heavily disappointed with my last full-price purchase (Mass Effect 3) - not even full-price, 160% of the full-price. Fucking paid $100 bucks for that horseshit.

Anyway, I'll find some way to acquire this game and then make my full decision.

I remember seeing a video for this game years ago (was it some of kind of indie competition? I forget). Hard to believe virtually all the game is made by the one guy, the sprites are fantastic and game plays really well.

Yeah, it won the Microsoft Dream.Build.Play Challenge in 2009 and was awarded a full XBLA release (it was originally supposed to be on XBLIG).

Ok, I purchased it because wtf and after playing 50 minutes, you need 2 things in mind.

1. PC version means you MUST have a controller or the controls will feel VERY stiff. The camera controls with the mouse makes free running impossible to be fluid. This isn't like Assassin's Creed series on PC where free running is very smooth.

2. Extreme graphics settings are too fucking high. On my computer with 16 gigs of ram and the recommended video card + more, my comp can't run this game on the highest settings. High performance has failed me with this game. I can play it on all "high" settings perfectly fine, but extreme settings is stuttery.

3. The combat is very fun, as well as the dialogue and setting, but you'll need a controller to get the most out of it because it still feels limited with a keyboard and mouse. Driving is a nightmare with a keyboard and mouse.

4. This is the kind of game I was hoping for in terms of immersion. It does a lot to immerse the player into this city better than GTA IV did. Not as much as I would have hoped, but enough to keep this game lively.

Maybe I'm just that out of the loop with new stuff thesedays, but did this game kind of come out of nowhere? But yeah I tend to love city sandbox games, glad to hear some good things about it. Definitely might have to check it out. Saints Row 3 was solid but not really what I wanted... I definitely think the second game was infinitely better.

I literally knew of this game's existence a few days ago when I saw the ad of it on Steam. Had no clue and it looked like another Max Payne-esque shooter by the poor screenshots they provide. Then I read darkeningday's post and scavenged some more info. Made my purchase based on what I read and it doesn't disappoint. It just feels extremely limited because of the mouse and keyboard set-up. It works against the player, particularly with moving the camera via mouse when sprinting (free-running) and especially while driving. Even on "high" settings the graphics are very good. City feels so alive. On "extreme" maxed out settings, this game is on a whole different level. Amazing detail, but even my monster of a rig was unable to sustain such demanding reqs.

Here's how it looks on all high:

I totally agree on Saints Row: The Third; it wasn't bad but the 2nd Saints Row was all levels of great, coming from more of an RPG/hack n' slash fan. I downloaded Saints Row 2 for free on PSN a few days ago and it brought back some awesome memories; blasting away the Sons of Samedi with a pimp cane shotgun is as awesome as I remember it. :-D And Sleeping Dogs looks pretty good, though I will have to hold off on getting it, as I should be getting Demon's Souls soon.

I just pre-ordered the special edition of nhl 13. Despite all the hype and all, I'm not expecting it to be that different from the earlier games, but heck, there's bound to be something new, so why not. I do, however, hope that they have done something to the AI; it's quite horrendous in 12 at times...

The NHL series is the only EA Sports series that actually gets better every year (Madden peaked at 06 and then they just quit giving a fuck since they bought the exclusive rights to the NFL and thus had no competition any more. Each game actually has LESS shit than the previous, that's unforgivable), but I may still end up passing on 13. Maybe because I've bought each one since 08, so five years in a row puts it at roughly $300 I've spent on sports games, which is ridiculous. The jump from 09-10 was the most worth it though, as they finally added the fantasy draft, which is where most of my entertainment comes from, plus the Be a Pro mode was infinitely better by then as well.

Also Saints Row 2 is awesome. I also got it for free from PSN and I'm pretty much in love with it. Insurance Fraud is the best minigame since Snake Vs The Monkeys in Metal Gear Solid 3.

This little song brought a lot of memories back once I dug from the bowels of YouTube. Ah..... Metal Gear Solid 3. One of the best goddamn games I ever played, and the only one that managed to make me cry (though Shadow of the Colossus got fairly close, you guys know which part I'm talking about). It was an experience.
