So, Sunny Day Real Estate are reuniting for Riot Fest this Summer and there are rumors (I don't have any links just something I heard from a friend) that they're gonna tour, also.

Anyone love them as much as I do and excited about this?

I've only ever heard How It Feels to Be Something On, which is a really solid album and probably one of my favorites from that late 90s era of emo. It's probably about time I checked out Diary and the self-titled, maybe this is the kick in the pants I needed to do that.

Easily my favourite band 2001-2002. Dying for a new album.

I really liked the first two albums. I wasn't really able to get into the reunion stuff when it came out but its been so long since I listened to it that I should probably go back and give it another listen. I never understood the idea that William Goldsmith was not good enough to drum for the Foo Fighters.

My opinion seems to go against most SDRE fans in that I like How it Feels to be Something On and The Rising Tide more than the first two albums.

"In Circles" is one of my favorite songs by them, but the rest of that album doesn't do it for me like the latter two albums.

Also, they just announced tour dates!

I saw Sunny Day Real Estate last night at Saint Andrews and was pretty shocked that it was sold out and it was assholes to elbows in there.

They sounded great though and Dan Hoerner (the guitarist) seemed genuinely ecstatic to be playing in front of everyone. The crowd was very loud and everyone was singing along with most everything they played.

They played a bunch of songs off How it Feels to be Something on and The Rising Tide, so I left happy.

Although, they closed with "In Circles" and right when they were about to go into the prechorus the power went out. So, we didn't get to hear their biggest hit, but it was definitely a great night.
