Cheezus Krist, I couldn't even draw a single button but those characters have character! Look at each fish, the guy at the board or the pipe inspector -: you can tell what they've been through a week before they were drawn! Real back stories... And looking at that spine makes me feel dizzy... Seriously, some of the details are way funnier than those you don't get to see for free on a metal forum. :)

For number 8, my best guess is Flotsam and Jetsam, but it doesn't fit the statue reference.
