Anyone watch McCartney 3,2,1 or the Get Back move/whatever on Disney?

I was massively into the Beatles a decade ago or so to the point of where I didn't listen to them for years. I can feel the obsession coming back.

I watched the first 45 minutes or so of Get Back with a friend and I won't lie, that thing could be TRIMMED down. There is a ton of time spent on trivial shit like "scaffolding" in the building and where they're gonna play the new concert that really bogs down the experience for me.

The first episode of McCartney 3,2,1 was real enjoyable so far from what I saw.

Whoops.

I thought I made this thread in The Tavern.

Can someone send this over there?

I've not seen the Disney special yet but absolutely plan to. While I prefer their pre-Sgt Pepper era, their last days together were a fascinating time.

As an aside, while I love the Beatles I definitely favor the Stones, mainly due to the perfection of their '68 - '73 output.

Beatles influenced a ton of metal artists (or metal adjacent).

Sabbath of course
Type O (Pete Steele was an obsessive fan and it shows in their music)
Soundgarden
Ghost
Bathory
Nirvana

And many many others.

Plus you cannot deny that the ending of I want you she’s so heavy is proto-doom metal, if not outright doom.

Heavy band.

Indeed. "Helter Skelter" is metal, to my ears.
