Sorry, there's no link. I get emails from Hexenkraft. In the last one, the following was written:

My debut full length album will be coming out and I will have much more to say about that soon

Yeah I am working super hard on that in parallel with a soundtrack to an indie game. Those will both be coming out 2019 and I will have way more to show from that soon. Thanks man, I appreciate the shoutout!

In related news, I just put up a brand new anime music video for my track A Flame in the Void, if you're interested in that kind of thing:

Perturbator have just released a video for new track Excess, which you can view here. I'm loving the new direction he's going in. None of this Carpenter Brut cashing in!!!

This one looks interesting, a nice mix of chiptune and synthwave from LukHash.

If anyone might have come across an album I encountered but forgot the name and title, it's art has a close view of a car that looks almost like this (probably a lambo) in a desert, even in the direction it's facing, but the overall sleeve has colour in desert orange like the center concept of Maxthor's Another World. The car had a skimpily clad woman sitting on its roof (with a guitar?) while barefoot. Probably a 2015 or 2016 release.

Close call, but the viewer is faces by the other side of the car/ a mirror of that. Though I don't think I'd forget Miami Nights. It was quite a non gripping name.

it took a couple listens but it's grown on me to the point of probably being my album of the year.

Not feeling this one. I typically detest vocals in synthwave and this is no exception. Skipped to track 2 and I hear this god-awful saxophone... (grimacingemoji)

This one isn't for me, lol

Exactly the reasons why I love it! :D

Not sure if it qualifies as 'synthwave' but I'm really into this post-soviet/coldwave type of electronic music. Like The End of Electronics Satisfyingly cold.

Synthwave and Retrowave is absolutely a classic Genre! I adore the crisp style the genre has, and how much effort goes into the works of making spectacular pieces of Music. I love seeing the love that goes into this Genre of music, 10 out of 10, for real!! I would Highly recommend The Midnight or Trevor Something, they are amazing!

This is arguably my favorite "new" subgenre of the past decade or so. Somehow I wasn't really aware of it as a scene until half a decade ago or thereabouts, though it's not that much of a stretch from some of my other musical interests. I dipped my toes into electro-industrial in the mid-late 90s by accident, also started very slowly getting into synthpop like Depeche Mode, a smidgeon of trance, and it was a bit of a slow roll while metal completely took over for most of a decade, but the seeds had been planted and they switched places for most of the past decade or so. It's interesting that this subgenre is generally considered to have properly kicked off when the Drive soundtrack came out, but it was a natural progression for me from some of the futurepop and such that I had been heavily getting into in the mid-late 00s/early 10s. Less 90s trance and industrial influences, more 80s vibes. A track like this kind of connects them.

So anyway, it's been a staple of my listening for awhile, and I'm a big fan of artists like Perturbator, Mega Drive, Lazerhawk, The Midnight, Volkor X, Dead Astronauts, Dance With the Dead, Carpenter Brut, GosT, FM-84, NINA, Scandroid, Turboslash, VHS Glitch, Master Boot Record, S U R V I VE, etc. To slice up subgenres even more microscopicly like we do in metal, I'm especially into darksynth, which is the most "metal" movement of the scene. Here are a handful of tracks from artists that I don't see nearly enough discussion of.

Anyone seen The Rise of the Synths yet? This is easily my most anticipated movie of the year, and I really cannot wait for this to get a proper release. Should be fun and interesting. Sublime soundtrack too.

someone posted this in a HPL forum as a short, but it's effectively a music video that can go here:

the story is based on "shadow over innsmouth", not sure if the video works for those who have not read it...

Here are some excerpts from my favorite half-dozen '21 synthwave albums.

Deadlife's God in the Machine is fantastic.

Perturbators's Lustful Sacraments has veered towards incorporating a lot of darkwave and gothic rock influences, but it still has some good synthwave/darksynth on it.

Abstract Void is really fascinating in how they mix synthwave with blackgaze. Wishdream is an excellent album.

Turboslash's IONS is really solid. It's mostly instrumental, but I love some of the vocal tracks they occasionally do, she has a fantastic voice.

Mega Drive's Neuroframe is quite good.

Street Cleaner's Edge is a quality release.

Rogue VHS' I Am: Rogue VHS is quite nice. For some reason no one has uploaded individual tracks yet, but "Souls Depart" at 13:55 is my favorite track on it.

Absolutely! I enjoy Synthwave a lot. I found collected playlists around youtube, and I think you'd enjoy them.

so I've been listening to this artist named Mr. Kitty, for about 5 years now. over this 5-year time span, I've noticed he takes a huge spin on synthwave and turns it into this crisp electronic sound. perhaps you guys might be interested and taking a listen to it? he uses the synth chords, and synth leads and takes them to a whole other level. I find his music to be quite interesting!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qGcOZV ... rt_radio=1 <-- 44 Days by Mr. Kitty
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9MJ478Mr7c <-- Spirit of the Forest by Mr. Kitty

Here are two songs I utterly adore!
