Malcom X did some good things and mostly stupid things. I don't really get the point in trying to prove black people are superior, I mean, the point should be the colour of your skin shouldn't be determinant to your achievements. He was really vocal about how blacks came first, therefore blacks are better and whites would die soon a la Helter Skelter. On the other hand, he and the NOI raised awareness, even though they were working against the civil-rights movements.
The Nation of Islam episodes that ended with his death feel so out of place when we think it happened in the US.
To me it always struck as the violent response to a REALLY racist system, but a response that would never achieve it's goals.
