I searched for concert apps in the Play store and there are a bunch of options. Rather than trying them all to see which ones are decent, I'd like to ask my fellow metal heads which one(s) they use. I'd like to simply input all the bands I'm interested in and be notified when they play near where I live. I don't want to see notifications of bands that are not on my list. Is there such an app?

I just simply add/Like bands on facebook or just look at venue sites maybe once a week. Really annoying when they announce tour dates and none are remotely close to me, then they say "more dates being added soon", yet same thing. *ahem* deicide

Check events on Facebook, if you 'liked' the band, I believe they come up as suggested that way.

That's how I usually find out about upcoming concerts. I don't think I need an app at all.

FB is literally the only way I can ever find out about events anymore, and because I don't check it often, I usually hear about these events long after the fact. Regardless, as long as you're willing to check it about once a week, it's probably the best place there is to find out about shows/concerts, as dumb as that is for people who don't check the site every five minutes.
