It's been a long time since I've listened to the album...and it's actually not bad now 8 years later.

I bought it when it came out. I think some of Dime and Vinnie's (especially Vinnie) best playing can be found on a couple of the songs. As a matter of fact, I like it better than most Pantera albums excepting CFH and TGSTK even though Rebel Meets Rebel is just pure outlaw southern rock with an infusion of shred.

This is my first time hearing it and it sounds like a failed experiment.

Agreed with the sentiment that it's better than the majority if not all of Pantera's output. It's a really fucking uneven album though, and I don't think I'll ever feel the need to hear it again after having heard it twice. Despite that, David Allan Coe will always be a legend in my eyes.
