I was just wondering, is the RIP section just not being updated? I find it hard to believe that NO ONE has died this year. That would be quite amazing, and odd, if it was true.

Maybe 2017 will be the year when no one dies.

The list data is live, it's just that no one has entered a 2017 date of death for any artist yet, it seems. It can take a few days before news comes out and details are known.

That's quite a first post you got there. We're only 12 days into 2017 yet. Are you in a rush to see more "famous" people die or something?

No, he's referring to the RIP section on the main site page of metal band members who died, and noticing that it wasn't updated at all for the year 2016. He's not talking about people dying in 2017.

Ah I see. Nevermind. Rarely do I go on the main site so I wasn't aware of that section.

Huh? That section shows 200+ artists who died in 2016...

Just to add to HB's point: it's also entirely possible an artist has died, but we might not know for months, years or at all. We list 600,000 artists. Statistically it's likely someone has passed away already this year.

Totally.

No, I just find it interesting to see who has passed and check out their bands that I never heard of, and it surprised me it has not had anyone on the list yet this year. I assume of course that people won't always know right away, but almost two weeks in I think someone would have died, dammit!.

I'm still wanting for a confirmation if Robert deathrage of the meatshits really have died.
