The title explains it all, this is basically the counterpart to the "landscape/scenic/nature photos that you took"-thread caspian created, for those of us who live in bigger cities or venture there on business or pleasure, and for those of us who like to see buildings of any kind, especially skyscapers.

There's only one rule here, the photos have to be taken by yourself. And one guideline: Use spoiler tags when the pics are huge.

:)

I really love seeing a city's skyline from afar. Being able to see what a city looks like in the most literal sense is great.

this is a ool thread idea. I doubt I have any/many photos to share, but I like the idea.
Is a downtown area/super-ghetto shit acceptable, even if not in a big city with skyscrapers and shit>

EDIT: I ask about downtown because I was in a photography class where we went to downtown Decatur, AL, and its hardly "urban"... but I DO have pictures, AT LEAST!

Late November last year drone. I have a couple more photos but none of them are great. To be honest they're not actually taken by me - I forgot to take my camera out that day.

Syracuse is awful. I went out there about a year ago and the whole time I was out there it was a ghost town. Everything just seems super industrious. And there is nothing to do there. When I was driving around there all I saw was people hanging out in the parking lots of businesses. Like huge groups of people just chilling outside near their cars.

And I hear there are a lot of hate edge types in Syracuse too.

Some Asian "urban" photos for you folks. Just some photos I snapped a moment ago on a shitty phone camera. I desperately need an upgrade. These are just some photos of this place called Carpenter Street in Kuching.

My hood. There's several rows of starkly contrasting neon rowhouses climbing the hill across the freeway I was trying to photograph but my phone couldn't hack it.

That's unfortunately accurate. It is a poor place that everyone loves to hate. But at the same time, people stay here because it's unique in a sense. The underground (both musically, and in regards to small business/attractions.) fight hard to survive, and we have a few gems mixed in with the rough. It brings a bit of unification to the city. It's big enough to be broke as hell, but small enough so that there aren't any real borders between neighborhoods, everyone knows about "the mall, the venue, the casino, the boulevard" or whatever.

Don't know what you're talking about with the edges though. There are a lot of drug users but I've seen a fair number of edge bands play, I've never seen any hate towards them. Haven't seen a lot of punk shows though, but there's a lot more of that than metal here.

Has to be somewhere is San Francisco, with Sutro Tower in the background. I'm guessing somewhere over in the Lake Merced area in the southwestern section of the city. Inspector Satan would be able to give a more exact location I suppose. (I don't live in San Francisco, but Sutro Tower is a pretty prominant landmark to go by.)

Close enough yeah, south eastern side of San Francisco. Aside from the houses in the foreground, most of the pic is Bernal Hill. I didn't realize Sutro Tower was THAT recognizable though, or have you spent some time over here Oxenkiller?

I used to live in the Bay Area like 20 years ago, and went to many a show at the Stone on Broadway during the glory days of the Bay Area Thrash scene. (the Stone has been closed since around 1994 I think.)
Once I got out of high school I had to move to a town that I could actually afford to live in, so I eventually ended up in Idaho.

Bezerko and Di3inpain, your photos are damn interesting! I'd like to see some more western Europe/Midle East photos! intriguing places!
If I have the time I'll post some old photos from my town here in Argentina. This thread needs more South American flavour.
