Okay you alcoholic metalheads, what do you like to drink on a regular basis? Do you drink differently at home or bars than you do at shows?

Personally, I prefer cheap beer at shows, craft beer at home and bars, and Jägermeister and scotch at home.

Never got a taste for beer or wine or whiskey or vodka. Always been fond of gin and rum and tequila. Lately into cider at home; sweet, refreshing, just a little alcoholic. For shows, the cheap watery beer is better because it doesn't make me sick.

I'm a huge fan of really thick, dark beer. Double and chocolate stouts are really nice, but I like a heavy ale too such as Arrogant Bastard. I like my whiskey as well.

I've quit drinking for just over three months now due to stomach problems, however.

literally everything. I used to drink 3-4 drinks a night (gin and tonic mostly - about a third a bottle of gin a night) - but I've since cleaned up quite a bit and now really only drink on weekends, socially. Although, I still drink a lot at once, and have an immense tolerance.

with that said, I divide pretty evenly these days. Concerts and bars = whatever's cheap, on special, they do best. Restaurants = wine and microbrews. Home = whatever I feel like, no preference for prices - but a lot of scotch or gin. I love gin.

I'm not a big alcohol guy, but when I do have some kind of booze it's no more than a beer or two. Bourbon, orange juice, and lemonade is also really good when mixed.

As for non-alcoholic stuff, I'm a complete and utter soda jerk. I could drink nothing but Mexican Coke for the next year and be perfectly satisfied, if completely unhealthy. Water and orange juice I also drink plenty of, especially during shows.

Various forms of whiskey, non-dry tasting wine, tequila, various liquors, etc.

Not much of a beer guy.

Beer. Stouts are awesome.

If I'm social drinking to get drunk, whatever liquor is at hand. Vodka is easy on me compared to say tequila.

Mead, Scotch, malt, lager, stout and when I want to relax, Tia Maria with goat milk.
I do enjoy a glass of dry wine with food.

Let's see.
I use to drink from cold water, licorice infusion, coca cola, orange fanta, light beer, trappist beer to run cola.
I use to get drunk outside home (bars and shows) but only drinking light beer at shows.

Pelforth Brune is a good one, if not hard to find ..atleast around here.
Tempelier is a nice Belgian beer.
The Christmas beer here in Germany is fantastic.
Pannepot is a good spiced beer, a little on the strong side though.
Old Tom's chocolate is great as well.

Liqour
Jack Daniels
Jaeger
Wild Turkey
good vodkas, not as picky.

Non-alcoholic
Water
Sprite

I'm more of a soda guy, I usually go for Coca-cola and Dr.Pepper and at home, but whenever I'm at a social event, I go for German and Dutch booze, I don't like English beer, tastes like piss to me, and liqueur makes me sick. At shows I drink coca-cola, fucking oceans of it since it's cheap.

Any one else here share my enthusiasm for soda?

^ I'm actually with ya.

I love root beer (Barq's, IBC, anyone really). Coke is pretty much a classic, and tastes better than most things. Orange and grape sodas rule hard, and I think I like Sprite over all the other variations. I don't do soda a lot - I treat it like candy, so I have it maybe once a month? But, man, nothing like a Coke and a burger.

As long as it's alcohol I'll drink anything. My favorite is Whiskey though, Crown Royal all the way.

Used to drink a bottle of whisky or brandy every week, have had about 2 or 3 drinks since february, not missing it at all, and now wonder why I got smashed once a week.

Now it's either boiled water, camomile or some tea from the Chinese shop.

This. Except, for me, replace Coke with Pepsi. A burger just doesn't get washed down the same if I drink anything other than Pepsi.

I'm not a heavy drinker so normally a few pints at the local over the weekend whenever there's a band night on, or failing that a few shots of Jager whilst watching the usual American Dad & Family Guy re-runs.

Beer, beer, beer. I don't even mind cheap diluted beer. From time to time, I take a local spirit called Tuak. My Aunt makes a killer tuak and she experiments using fruits not normally used for fermentation like Pineapple, Dragonfruit and even Bananas, giving it a distinct taste. Traditionally tuak uses rice.

For me I like Guinness for beer, and Vodka and cranberry juice for a mix drink. At shows I usually just drink PBR or whatever is cheapest since I drink a lot at shows!

I love beer and my whiskey, but I'll get drunk to pretty much anything. Had some shots of the modern liquid cocaine(Jager, Goldschlager and Bacardi 151) last night and paid for it by nearly puking on my shoes and having to leave early :(

Mostly beer, lately I've been on a bit of a health kick so I've been sticking to gin or Guinness.

Guinness is actually really good for you. It's got less calories than skim milk and it's packed with fiber and vitamins, you can actually survive on just Guinness and bananas. Beer is food.

For a beer I like stout and if I'm feeling something lighter I'll have a Hoegaarden. When I'm drinking to get drunk I'll just buy whatever cheap beer - usually Black Label, although I'll never stoop to paying for PBR again. When I'm somewhere that serves alcohol and not feeling beer, I'll have a gin and tonic or coke and whiskey. Whisky/scotch and gin are by hard my favourite hard liquor.

Yeah, the other week we went to a fancy hotel bar and ordered white russians (fucking $10 each) and after we went to the normal pub he kept ordering that for us, we both ended up blacking out pretty hard; the sober guy who was with us must have been having an interesting time.

Don't drink much these days, but aside from cheap lager and the occasional treat of a few nice ales, rum and coke is my drink of choice, preferably dark rum.

I drink mostly beer. I much prefer ales to lagers, with my favorites being anything with the word "imperial" or "old" in the name. Big IPA's, barleywines, stouts. I also like most English, Scottish, and Belgian ales. I used to be pretty big into scotch but I don't drink it much these days. Oh, and I'm not above certain girly drinks - margaritas are brilliant.

I love Bocks, red and Belgian ales but drink mostly shit lager because of the price. I don't mind. I enjoy vodka, Steinhäger and national spirit made of sugarcane juice, cachaça, but I don't drink them as much. Pisco is awesome, but I never could find it in my country. I like sake too, but you have to be careful with it because bad sake is literally the worst thing I've ever tastetd.
I also drink lots of cheap hobo wine at home, nº1 choice to get drunk.

Whisky, rum, brandy fuck me up too badly to drink much of it.

I like beer, but as a German I've never quite got used to real ale - I still prefer Pils. I also love whiskey (the 'correct' snobbish position is to favour scotch, but I rather like bourbon myself) and tequila.

Brown liquor guy here. Used to be really into white liquor, but I switched. White liquor cocktails are still my favorite though; gin and tonic, vodka and tonic, and of course my side bitch Bloody Mary. I like a good scotch when I can afford it, and am a big fan of Maker's Mark and Crown Royal. As far as beer goes, I'll give almost anything a chance as long as it isn't swill like Bud or Miller. I'm partial to anything from Founder's, Sierra Nevada, North Coast, Victory Company, and Ommegang. Belgian tripel ale, imperial stout, IPA, barelywine...it's all good man.

Water, I hardly never fuck with any sodas or soft drinks anymore aside from coffee and the occasional orange juice or this kefir stuff which is basically like liquid yogurt (very tasty and apparently healthy too).
With "drinks" I prefer the brown liquors mainly bourbon and whiskey, but I don't mind vodka either.. I just can't stand gin at all. I tried tanqueray one time and could barely stomach one drink, just the name makes my stomach shiver...
I've been drinking some Jagermeister lately. That's a liquor that seems to always divide a group of people instantly, people either love it, or can't stand it.
