^ Yeah, I definitely get that after this Christmas. My sister had a kid in April so this was the kid's first Christmas. Got him some neat stuff (a wood puzzle for infants, a train made of colored wood blocks, a stuffed turtle that projects stars out of its back onto the ceiling) and seeing that kid get super excited about that stuff was way more rewarding than any present I've received the past several years.

I'd be really exited over getting one of those and I'm supposed to a relatively mature adult. I guess.

Anyways, I got a shirt, a wireless mouse, and a book I had wanted. I don't particularly like holidays or getting gifts so just getting to spend time with my family is great.

I got Windir's 1184, the 2003 press of Darkthrone's A Blaze in the Northern Sky, and I's Between Two Worlds, all on CD. I owned 1184 and ABitNS digitally, but I figured it was time to get physical copies. I also got Caladan Brood's Echoes of Battle purple DLP, a couple gift cards, some money, a sweater, and truffles. There'll also be a gift I bought myself coming soon consisting of a dozen tapes and a few LPs and 7"s. A pretty good haul this year.

RE stuffed turtles, someone on my dorm floor has one of those. It's pretty awesome.

Money, which I'll probably spend on a random assortment on music and movies.
Shirt from my uncle's friend's clothing company
Ground Loop Isolator

I got to spend time and watch some basketball with my relatives which I don't get to do very often.

I'd love to see a pic of this, as it sounds incredible

Here's what I got:

1001 beers you must try before you die (2013 edition) book. Interesting, as there is a lot of well known macro-breweries in here, but still looks a solid read.

I got two of each of these for my beer drinking pleasure. The one on the left is an IPA specific glass made in collaboration with Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada apparently. Sweet.

Also got another book titled, "How to tell if your cat is plotting to kill you", which is quite an amusing read, and one years subscription to Fishing World Australia magazine.

I asked for a Cossack Shashka sword for christmas and was kinda surprised to find that my parents actually got me one (I've filled my room up with cheap replicas from all over the world and there's not much room left for this big-ass cavalry saber). It's basically like a 19th century saber but without any kind of guard, which makes it a lot more dexterous and versatile than the traditional officer's swords us westerners and Americans are used to.
I'd post a picture but I never figured out how to do that on this forum.

I didn't get anything for Christmas, probably because people know I don't celebrate it. My bro got me GTA V for my birthday... Gonna play it once my new PS3 comes in. It broke after some time of playing GTA V.

Two 100-space, wall-mount tape racks. EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.

Only thing is, the person who shipped them out did so by putting them together in a box with no padding whatsoever, so the back broke off of one partially and it's bowed slightly at one side. They're also unfinished (and therefore splintering all over) and covered in cobwebs, but I guess that just makes them more nekro or something.

It's not so bad, really. I don't have a staple gun handy, but I think some gorilla glue will suffice for holding down the popped up corner on the messed up one.

Really glad to have them. I have way too many tapes and not enough floor, shelf or closet space. Also, I just like looking at a wall full of tapes!

See that little button that says "img"? Click it, then right click a picture (on a publicly shared site) select copy image location, paste into field. Presto now you can show us your pretty new sword.

Shoes and socks, which is fine. And some money which essentially pays back the price of flying home. I'm not a family person and don't like being here. But, hey...shoes and socks.

Now that I'm back from my dad's, let's count the loot.

-A 24" TV that I'm doubling as both the TV for downstairs and the computer monitor. I've also got the Blu Ray player hooked up to it as well.
-Tickets to Wicked on Broadway in February.
-A Fitbit wrist strap workout assistant thing.
-A Bassboomz Bluetooth speaker.
-New Skullcandy earbuds because my old ones broke.
-AA and AAA rechargeable batteries.
-Various assorted movie DVDs, including Zombieland, all 5 Jackass movies, Machete, a 3 pack of Hellraisers 3, 4, and 5, a 4 pack with the first two Hostel movies, a 6 pack with Children of the Corn II on it, an 8 pack with stuff like The Prophecy and From Dusk Til Dawn on it, another 8 pack with a bunch of animal and weather horror movies on it (including Mansquito), yet another 8 pack of old Japanese monster movies (who's up for some Gamera vs. The Deep Sea Monster Zigra?), and a 20 pack with a ton of B movies and Asylum flicks on it. I am a slave to Echo Bridge Home Entertainment.
-Family Guy Volume 12 on DVD.
-Two wrestling related DVDs: WWE's Greatest Superstars of the 90s, and the WWE Raw 20th Anniversary collection on backorder until January as no store had it in stock.
-Iron Maiden: Maiden England '88, Black Sabbath Live...Gathered in Their Masses, and Dream Theater: Live at Luna Park all on DVD.
-Shirts for both Ride the Lightning and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
-A brand new GPS for the car I no longer have.

All in all a fairly sizable haul this Christmas. Now to rearrange the closet to fit all the DVDs in.

No one should ever be up for a movie starring that pedophile, Gamera.

Heh, this was my 15 week old's reaction to her present, aaaaaaalllllmost makes up for her general crapulence. We've got one of those turtle things, looking forward to her finding them cool.

Hah, that kid's crazy adorable. My nephew's still not quite to the stage where he's got a clear preference for certain toys over others - he basically will be down with anything brightly colored that he can chew on. Maybe someday he'll appreciate the engineering that went into all those patterns of LED projected stars.

Gamera is the only kaiju I have ever seen that has some pudgy, baseball cap-wearing preteen around at all times. Pedophile.

The usual this year. Socks, pants, a gift card and some flashlights. Plus turning another year older since my b-day falls on Christmas. The complete series of Seinfeld totally rocks and I can safely say my life is complete.

I gave myself lots of food and beer. It isn't really a tradition here in the Netherlands to give presents to each other during Christmas, as we normally do that on december the 5th during Sinterklaas, the pure and probably communist SC.
