Thorgrim and rexxxz were different accounts last time I checked. I did however, out of boredom, go through the really old pages in the newbie introduction thread, and if the story's to be believed, some guy genuinely did have his username changed just by asking, way back in the day.

There's a certain type of metalhead that romantically looks back on the early 80s, following the most aggressive of the bands of the time while selectively ignoring most of what happened since then. Only bands derived from the later-icons Motorhead and Venom are accounted for to build this brand of vintage heavy metal that romances Lemmy's gravelly voice and embraces the amateur simplicity of Venom's riffing. The unavoidable immersion in the more extreme metal of modern times is apparent, but excusable if one wishes to subscribe to the band's fantasy of being directly removed from the days when the hardest rocking bands were made rough by a lifestyle of cigarettes and whiskey, and the only reminder that it's 2000-something and not 1980-something are faster drumming and a guitar sound that was captured better than the most extreme bands knew how to do when the sickest speed metal bands cut straight to LP records with simple, iconic covers, without a CD, digital recording, or anything to remind us of the excessive, self-indulgent tendencies of bands trying to outdo each other when they began imitating the major records of 1986.

An awareness of thrash without the acknowledgement of being any more than Motorhead's "Overkill" on steroids permeates this slab of solid, no-frills rock-and-rolling heavy metal. There's a touch of early Sodom without the blackened edge that was later taken to extremes. This takes advantage of modern recording competency, but it shuns the potential to polish music, aiming only to assault the listener with the power of a Marshall choking on a microphone shoved into its grill and a singer hoping to catch up with Lemmy's legendary consumption of alcohol and cigarettes.

This fine young band aims to pick up where the early era of heavy/speed metal was run into the ground, and ride it into the sunset on Harleys, with vintage Motorhead shirts worn with pride, bomber vests open and billowing in the wind, and heavy metal fast and heavy as it could be in 1982. This one's for you if you never want to leave behind the days of ripped jeans, rock and roll songs played loud and hard, and the essential heavy metal records on your turntable.
