One month away now! This will be my first time; missed out on Immortal a few years back as it was sold out. But got my ticket nice and early this year. Excited particularly about seeing Enthroned, Taake and Satyricon. :headbang:

Anyone else going this year, or been previously?

Well, that would have been better had I not been sick. :ugh:

Still, the three bands I most wanted to see all delivered. Satyricon, Enthroned and (especially) Taake were fantastic. Satyr takes the award for politest and nicest metal frontman I've ever seen - judge for yourself if that's a good thing or not.

Gorath were also good (reminded me of Deathspell Omega); Christ Agony also very enjoyable. Gospel of the Horns were pretty good too. Herder is a young Dutch band who also impressed.

Less impressed by Psycroptic (Ozzie death metal, maybe just not my thing) and Ancient Rites, who I was quite looking forward to but didn't exactly light the place up. Dark Tranquility nice enough, so far as melodeath goes, but had a rather annoying display as background which kept showing the lyrics - more Muse than metal, if you ask me.

95% sure that I was standing right next to Fenriz for Satyricon's set (looked like him; Scando language). Wanted to thank him for the music but decided against it as he was enjoying himself with his girl and friends. I was touched by his hair as he leaned forward, though, so in a fanboyish way I feel I 've been blessed.
