I want people to recommend me their favourite 80's songs. They have to sound like they can't be from another decade. Real Early 90's songs are OK, as long as they meet the criteria as sounding extremely 80's. You know synthy, FR-guitars, gated drums etc.

Here are some examples:

Alice Cooper - Hey Stoopid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PccmJEeIUXg

Bonnie Tyler - I Need a Hero:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBwS66EBUcY

Robert Tepper - No Easy Way Out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffFBdWBp0NE

Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loWXMtjUZWM

Recommend me your favourite tracks that meet the criteria, doesn't need to be a known song, but can also be the most Mainstream songs ever.

Thanks in Advance

King Kobra - Never Say Die (Iron Eagle)
Through the Fire - Top Gun soundtrack
Chasing the Angels - I think also from an Iron Eagle soundtrack, maybe II

80s jet movies have tons of them...

Also the Transformers movie where Kick Axe were credited as "Spectre General" or something...

Van Halen after DLR left the band was ripe for this kind of keyboard-saturated goodness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZLKtjATZt0

One of my favorite 80s bouncy hits (though with a strangely sinister atmosphere): Bananarama - Cruel Summer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YHaOMe_uRc

And what's better than Back to the Future and Huey Lewis?

Stan Bush is the way to go :metal:

There are tons of songs I could go on naming as this is one of my fave genres. As I'm a bit in a hurry right now,
I throw these fantastic "mix-tapes" in the ring. Three ca. 40 min long tracks full of exactly what you're looking for:

besides the mentioned mixtapes (see my former post in this thread), which you really just have to listen to (really - all three of them
feature just the songs you possibly want), here are some other. While said mixtapes feature rather well known songs mostly taken
from various 80s action movie soundtracks (Danger Zone, Winner Takes it all, Never surrender Burning Heart, Never say die, Eye of the tiger etc.pp),
these ones here are a bit less known. Maybe some of them are to your liking. Enjoy...

Refugee "Thunder of another night", "Survival in the western world" (and many more)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBY8QWeOgMA

Neal Schon & Jan Hammer "No more lies"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cfcGGo6ecs

Emergency "Running out of miracles"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLnAUbGLQZM

Scandal "The Warrior"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGI53TZc8Yg

Vice "Keep holding on"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p__Q0q5sXQ

Myles Hunter "Somewhere a heart" (brillant song from the Galaxy Rangers cartoon show)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gkZ1URUu0A

Karo "Ball of fire"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8vYhHxbe-M

FM "Other side of midnight"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKeYnu-jEew

Shogun "Cloak and Dagger", "Shock to the heart"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY3eANOK2To
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cWK-0vu7FQ

Sweet Crystal "Power & Glory" (beware - it's christian ;) )

...

Oh - and get yourself the mixtapes!!!! (freely downloadable btw)

I'm not positive on what you're searching for, but... do you like Huey Lewis and the News? "Sports" and "Fore!" are among some of my most-listened non-metal albums, and the synth sounds are 80s as fuck. I do feel obliged to share this for anyone who hasn't seen it though, as it seems like the most recent generation knows Huey best through this film, rather than through their 80s radio hits.

The most 80s sounding metal I know would be Vicious Rumors "Digital Dictator" because this massive snare sound.

Liege Lord's "Master Control" is up there for the snare sound, but perhaps for the overall gratuitously excessive 80s sound you might like their debut, "Freedom's Rise," even more? Not exactly pop/rock but those come to mind.

Poison Girls had quite a lot of 80's-as-fuck songs:

Rockface
Too Close For Comfort
Velvet Launderette

Also, I'm currently really digging French 80's Deathrock poofs, Neva:

Not exactly like HL&TN, but still wicked-80's, and I like it, so I guess it's worth a shot... If you end up liking the sound of Neva, you should check out Nunsexmonkrock by Nina Hagen, too... Total fruitcake singer, but she makes being a fruitcake work exceptionally well, especially on this album.
