I'm looking for something a bit specific. Highly atmospheric Space or Lunar themed black or death metal. I'm not looking for stuff like Beyond Creation, Augury (to an extent) or Obscura. I'm not really sure how to describe the melody structures, but I'd prefer slow or mid-tempo (which gives the window to Funeral Doom) sort of progressions. If you have something that is fast but you think will pique my interest, go ahead and throw it out there!

These are examples I'd really like people to follow if they recommend anything:

Sacramentum - Moonfog. The intro is exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe my take on Lunar-themed metal is a bit of doom/funeral as well.

Timeghoul - Occurance On Mimas. The intro as well as considerable parts of the song are a pretty good example of what I want.

Darkspace - 1.2. I'm sure this is the first rec that comes to mind for everyone when hearing this sort of request. I listened to Darkspace's entire discography and wanted more, which made me want to make this thread. Darkspace has PLENTY of stuff that I'm looking for, notably, this song's intro.

Thanks in advance!

This is phenomenal, exactly what I'm looking for, thanks!

I've heard a lot of them, and it feels like I should have obviously heard it before, but I haven't really. I think I'll give it a listen. Any particular albums?

Check out Alchemist, fuckin' awesome progressive death metal and also, the new band of the members The Levitation Hex but I haven't heard it yet, it's probably quite good!

This band needs more attention too: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Las ... 3540355131 the new album is great.

Any of the first four will do, Ars Moriendi being my favourite.

I love that Finis Malorum EP by Sacramentum.

I honestly don't know of anything that sounds quite like that with the "lunar" theme, but perhaps old-school In Flames will suffice:
